And at this lower frequency the attenuation of the cable run is greatly reduced allowing a separation between the receiver and antenna of potentially hundreds of meters. An indoor 12V antenna is also included to assist you with your testing. The internal Lithium battery has recently been replaced. The following test results were obtained. The unit powered up fine with 115V AC power and the display started counting up from 00:00. DC Power input was not tested. The Antenna bias voltage was measured at 12V DC nominal. The commands can be entered manually using the usual key sequence of FUNC 00. Then UP/DOWN etc The receiver locks on to at least three satellites(when the antenna has a good view of the sky) and shows the correct time on both the LCD ... moredisplays. The UNLOCK flag clears when accurate time is received. The unit correctly identifies its latitude and longitude. The smaller LCD display is backlit. The larger one is not illuminated. Time also appears on the IRIG-B output. And this can be decoded using an external display. Other outputs and functions have not been tested. You need a 12V powered GPS antenna to use with this unit. If you decide to replace the one that I'm supplying please note that most GPS antennas that are sold today are for 5V power and may be damaged if connected to this unit.
