The stamps depict images of thre three particular centers. Please take a look at my other similar philatelic items! Condition and Reference: This set was issued on May 5. 1951 and it is listed in the 2011 Michel Mitteleuropa catalogue as#s 657-59 with a value of €2 or approximately $2.75. This set is also listed in the 2012 Scott catalogue as#s 452-54 with a value of $1.60. Only 550 000 complete sets are possible. These stamps are in very-fine overall condition, with fine to very-fine centering, fresh appearance and full original never-hinged gum. Otherwise free of faults. Original Union Black Powder Cap Pouch
Union cap pouch is dovetail design. Pouch is black in color. Outer front of pouch has had an oval plate on it but plate is missing. You can still see the imprint in leather of the oval plate. Also there are 2 slits in the leather where the 2 loops on the top and bottom of the plate went through the leather to attach the plate. Distance between the 2 slits is 1 7/8 in. All the leather is in very good condition. Including both belt loops. All seams are tight and no splits. Interior of cap box has inner flap and still has sheep fur inside. Cap box is in very good condition to be 150 years old.

UNION CIVIL WAR REGIMENTAL MEDAL - 115th NEW YORK VOLUNTEER INFANTRY -10th CORPS
This is a Union Civil War regimental medal from the 115th New York Volunteer Infantry. Which was one of Fox's"Fighting 300" regiments and saw considerable action and casualties during the course of the war. It is a good quality bronze medal that was originally issued to the veterans as a table medal or pocket piece. This one has been converted for wear. As you can see, and has a top part apparently pirated from a postwar GAR medal. Pinback brooch SOUVENIR and GAR style eagle suspension, medal is holed at 12:00. The bronze medal bears the bust portrait of the popular regimental commander, Colone Simeon Sammons. Oddly, the designer of the medal has misspelled the name and has it as"Simeon S. Ammons. The reverse bears the dates 1862- 1865 and has the 10th Corps badge at the center with"115 NYV" and crossed rifles. ... moreColonel Sammons raised the 115th out of Fulton. Hamilton, Montgomery and Saratoga counties. The 115th New York surrendered as a regiment at Harper's Ferry. But was back in action after they were paroled, fighting at the Battle of Olustee in Florida and suffering almost 300 casualties. They also fought at Cold Harbor, Deep Bottom, Fort Fisher, etc. Overall, the regiment had over 1,600 casualties, but almost 1,000 of those were counted in the captured category after Harper's Ferry. They did lose seven officers and 132 men killed or mortally wounded and another 21 officers and 419 men wounded in action Overall. This medal is 3" top to bottom. Condition is generally VF. This nice image was acquired from the CDV album of. And identified by, Col. Rishworth Rich of the 9th Maine Volunteer infantry. This is a great image of an unidentified union officer belonging(I believe) to the 7 th Connecticut Infantry. In this photograph the officer wears a single breasted nine button frock of a junior officer and with larger double rich straps and buff sash. There is a pencil notation on the back side identifying this person as Alfred H. Terry but after careful consideration and scrutiny I have come to the conclusion that this is not Alfred H. Terry. So this is being sold as an unidentified union officer. This could be a diamond in the rough if you can find who it is! Backmark is F.W. Burwell of New Haven. Ct. 1904 RE-UNION RIBBON 145TH REGT.P.V. ARMY OF POTOMAC & ASHTABULA COUNTY, OHIO
You're getting 3 pieces of historical memorabilia in this auction: 1) blue-colored silky ribbon with a red-colored 3-leaf clover. It has: ANNUAL RE-UNION OF THE 145TH REGT. P.V. GIRARD. PA. AUGUST 25TH, 1904. 4TH BRIG. 1ST DIV. 2D CORP. ARMY OF POTOMAC. written on it. A little research showed that this Pennsylvania Volunteer Regiment formed in 1862 and left out of Erie, PA. The ribbon is in pretty good condition, considering its age.some age wear and discoloration, light creases and folds. 2) White-colored silky ribbon has: Ashtabula County. Ohio. on it. I don't know what event it represents. It is discolored with age, and the top edge looks as though it's been ripped off- that end may have been wrapped around a pin or something, as it looks like a couple of folds in the fabric there. 3) Old newspaper clipping- does not have name ... moreor date of newspaper(if there was a newspaper called the"National Tribune" It may be from that, as the back side of this clipping mentions that newspaper) It is a clipped out section of the paper that has"Lincoln's Gettysburg Address The Only Authorized Official Version" on it. It is discolored with age and has some small rips along the edges. This clipping was found with the other 2 ribbons, so they are being sold all together as 1 unit. One was dated Jan. 3. 1945, a duplicate of a telephoned telegram. The other was Mar. 23, 1945 from the same man, announcing when he would be home on leave, also a duplicate of a telephoned telegram. The original envelope is with the March telegram. The stamp is a 3 cent stamp with a picture of an eagle and a banner which says, WIN THE WAR. The postage is stamped with a"Give to the Red Cross War Fund" postal ink stamp. These are in very good condition for age. With no tears. Very legible. There is some yellowing, as would be expected. Selling my WWII M1 Garand Bayonet. This one was made by Union Fork and Hoe Company. Authentic and in excellent condition. This is a model 1905 Bayonet that was returned after supplies of the M1 GARAND became adequate to send turn in the older rifles. This is an authentic WWII Bayonet. However it was shortened for the M1. This work was done by the arsenals and is correct for this piece. Notice the wooden handles and lack of parkerization. The M1 Contracts started in 1943.Pops right on and off an M1. You'll be hard pressed to find a better example. If you need a bayonet to hang on the wall with your M1, this is an excellent choice. 1850 Stampless Letter: Alexander Diven. Hancock, New York to Diven, Hathaway& Woods, Elmira, New York] Cover portion"Hancock 3 MCH N- Y" postmark and stamped"5" Hancock, The Gateway to the Delaware River" is a small[3200 pop] town founded in 1806 located on the Pennsylvania border. Diven must be traveling as he lives in Elmira, New York, 98 miles west. It is addressed to"Diven, Hathaway& Woods, Elmira" This is Diven's own law firm and it had been formed in 1846 and was one of the best known in the region. The letter is actually addressed to SG Hathaway Jr. who was Samuel Gilbert Hathaway Jr. 1810-1864) see#4 from internet] He was the son of Samuel Hathaway(1789-1867) who had served in the US Congress. He graduated from Union College, studied law in Cortland and he began his law practice in Elmira. ... moreHe served in the State legislature from Chemung County, 1842 and 1843 and was elected a delegate to the New York Constitutional Convention 1846. In 1862, he was given authority to raise the 141st New York Infantry but he contracted a disease and returned home in 1863 where he died. The third member of the firm was James L. Woods(1819-1903) He was later a Commissioner for the Chemung River Bridge[1874] and also declined an appointment to the New York State Supreme Court. All three men were strong Abolitionists and in 1850 Woods as a member of the firm represented Underground Railroad leader Jervis Langdon as he took Missouri slave Julie Barbier/Juda Barber to petition the court for her freedom which she got. The author of the letter is Alexander Samuel Diven(1809-1896) see#3] Born in Catherine, Tioga County, New York, he studied at two academies and then took law courses being admitted to practice in 1832. Antique Photograph Ambrotype in Union Case Couple Tintype Civil War Era 1800's
This auction is for an antique photograph in an antique Union case. I am not a photographer expert. But will do my best to describe. The Union case has an attractive raised design on both the front and back. The binding material holding the two sides together is missing, but could be replaced. The little latch to close is intact. Inside is an antique photograph(I believe an ambrotype) of a nice looking couple from the mid-1800's. Pinback button promoting William McKinley for president and Theodore Roosevelt for vice president. 1900. The Whitehead and Hoag Co. Newark, New Jersey. When Col. Theodore Roosevelt returned from Cuba. Hero of his Rough Riders cavalry unit, Republican Party bosses in New York recognized a golden opportunity and tapped him to run for governor in 1898. There were doubts, however, about his loyalty. Roosevelt had been a New York State assemblyman in the 1880s who had built a reputation for charting his own course politically. As governor, he became an energetic reformer, passing progressive legislation and rooting out graft wherever he found it, and the bosses now badly wanted to be rid of him. They saw another golden opportunity in 1900. There would be a vacancy on President McKinley's reelection ticket. Thanks to the timely death of Vice ... morePresident Hobart. Roosevelt was drafted to run, and the McKinley-Roosevelt ticket handily swept the field in November. Historically, the vice presidency was a dead end job, a sinecure with no real power that usually concluded a politician's career.
