For auction I have an Industrial MAIMIN SUPER AUTOMATIC XXX STRAIGHT KNIFE FABRIC CUTTER Working Condition. This is a vintage machine that still has it's original cloth power cord. But a newer industrial plug. This was still being used at the old BEAVER BRAND HAT FACTORY, which closed it's doors a couple of years back. A note to the bidders, this runs on 110 volts 60 cycles. I plugged it in and it does work. I tried it with a piece of fabric and not a stack of material and it did cut the cloth. There is NO PAPERS with this machine, so whoever is bidding on this piece of equipment, better know how it works or have enough common sence to figure it out. It comes with a lamp attached(light bulb not included) and there are some hooks and a spring attached to the power cord so it can be suspended out of the way when in use. Maimin Model 55 cutter slitter. Got this unit at a local ranch sale. Unit is very used with the bumps bruises and grime associated with a long hard life. But not to my surprise when I flicked the power switch on this Made in the USA hunk of iron she sprung to life. Who knows how many decades it has been sitting in the tack room. She smells like it has been a while since she roared. If you are going to do more than look at it you will be wanting to give her a good going over with some electric motor cleaner. I see you buy new blades for the 55 on eBay so there must still be a few chugging along out there. The power cord has been replaced some point with what looks like a vintage lamp cord. I tested the unit with my test cable(not included) and the motor hums when switched on, but the blade does not spin, so the unit will need some attention from a repair tech. The blade turns freely with your hand, so it is not jammed. The unit does not have a power cord attached, but does have a cord plug attachment, so you‘d easily be able to wire up a cord. The only other issue I see is that there was a small metal hook like attachment on the front that is broken off, but it looks like they don’t even have this attachment on the newer models.
