Foot controllers amperage needs to be rated at least 1.5 times than the motor amperage for it to last, otherwise it will burn fast! Electronic foot controllers gives even power and speed to the motor and does not generate heat compared to carbon or heater element foot controller. Therefore this a better choice for this high-end sewing machine. It has been converted to use standard 15x1 needles. Beware of the sellers that does not talk about the needles this machine uses! Those needles are 206x1 and are in very low production and high priced. They will be out of production in the coming years while standard 15x1 needles are used in 99% of all home sewing machines. I am selling my American Straight needle stitcher because we are moving out of state and it is to heavy to take along. This stitcher started life out in a shoe repair shop in a small town. From the condition of the cams it was not used much at all. I cleaned it all up and re-oiled the machine and it runs like new! I have the machine set up for use sewing straight runs on small pieces. Because of the 3-1/2 inch throat it is somewhat limited in what you can sew but it does make a beautiful straight tight even stitch. It is great for small holsters. Belts etc. I also made a Box Attachment that is really cool. You can sew boxes with properly mitered seams. If you wish you could also convert it back to a shoe machine if you wished. Very Nice Heavy Duty Fischbein Series 10 Thousand Sewing Head Machine Leather
Here is a real nice Fischbein Series 10 Thousand Sewing Head. This is just the head there is no motor included with this. This machine has been in storage for a few years(with oil in machine) and could use a good exterior cleaning. It still works very well. Turns smoothly and properly.
