So I took photos of it hanging on the line, with more photos of different areas folded up on my dining table I did wash it as it was a nice blowy day and finished it off in the tumbler. But I left it a little too long and it got quite ... morecreased, I have ironed it but I am not the world`s best ironer, so there may still be a few creases left it is approx: 100 ins long x 64 ins wide ins( 255 x 164 cm) the hems are really small and have blue stitching. It looks hand sewn to me has ships and borders in cross-stitch. A lot of work involved there, all done by hand by the looks of things, but am not certain some of the colours are more vivid than others and are probably not as vivid as once was. some of that hem-stitching has come undone here and there. There are some faint blue marks on the white, they were there when I found the item, perhaps colour bleeding in the past. I did spot two tiny holes when I was pressing it but then I couldn`t find them when I was taking the photos, but I have mentioned them, not huge or very noticable. some of the cross stitching on two of the ships has come undone, shown in the pics. apart from those faint blue marks there are no stains and it is clean item has been used. There may be more signs of age or use than mentioned if scrutinised but I feel that I have described the most important no idea of age or maker. Seems a bit mediterranean to me by the style of the sh

Antique Palestinian embroidery cross stitch handmade pillow cover
I hand stitched this pillow sham from an embroidered dress panel I bought at the Jerusalem Suq in 1985. If you so chose. You could unstitch the sham and stretch the embroidery over a frame for a wall hanging. The embroidery is really exquisite, and it is old, at least mid-20th century but maybe older. Being an authentic handicraft and not a commercially made item, it is not super spiffy like some of the export pillows you see at this site, but if you want the real thing it is the ticket. It measures 15 and a half inches by 12 inches.

It has been used. It is not new. This was made by a woman who was born in 1897. This is just one example of her many talents. The condition is very good. I cannot find any snags. Rips, holes or repairs. It measures 15" x 16" There is one tiny speck of red on the back, about the size of a pinhead. The borders of light green cording frame the work nicely. I have not have this little beauty cleaned. It would probably do well in Woolite. It has a light scent of sweetness. No zipper. This was held closed by little gold safety pins.
