Up for your consideration are these Union Products Vintage Angel Christmas Blow Mold Lighted Yard Decorations. Two of the Angels measure about 31" tall. One is 18" tall. They are in good used condition with some paint loss but look very good when lighted. Please see my pictures. The Angels have a pearlized white color with blue tipped wings. Antique 1907 DIETZ UNION DRIVING LAMP NEW YORK - No Reserve Price
Item: Dietz Union Driving Lamp– N.Y. Note: Pls. excuse my poor photo taking ability. Occasionally. I hold the camera crooked and the item appears offset. I assure you that this item is completely level and it is the photo only. Sorry. Description: For sale is an Antique“Dietz” Union Driving Lamp– New York. U.S.A. This lamp has Patent Dates ranging from 1897– 1907. It is painted in White and measures 11 ½” tall and weighs 2 pounds 13 oz. unpacked) The lens measures 6” externally and is all glass of course. Inside the lantern there is no wick housing/wick. I believe the original collector I purchased this from had plans on electrifying it and simply never got around to it. In my photo that shows the lens door open. You will notice the housing is basically empty where you would normally see the wick. I’ve sold other Dietz lanterns before ... morebut this is my first Union Driving Lamp so I am not totally familiar with them. So, please study my photos well to see if everything else looks correct. To a non-expert like myself, everything looks quite good. I am sure my photos will best further describe this item. Condition: On a scale of 1– 10(Ten being MINT) I can confidently grade this item’s condition to be a solid 7 at least. As mentioned above. There is no wick assembly and no wick adjustment wheel externally. The glass lens is in near perfect condition with Zero Cracks/Chips. I said“near perfect” because on the outside of the glass. There is a scuff in the center. The brass framed lens door has a wonderful patina to it but there is a ½” crack in the brass on the upper left hand side(see last photo) It is very narrow and hard to see. The white paint is chipped off in spots but that is to be expected of course. There are Absolutely ZERO big dents. There is however(1) Miniscule"Ding" on the rear circle under the Patent Date of 1897. It is so small. I cannot call it a"dent" Also. There is NO rust at all. The underside base is very superb. Captured Battery" Union soldier. In what looks to be disheveled Zouave uniform, sword, waving cap, caputured artillery, dead rebel. Canary yellow. 3" x 5 1/4" sort of slate colored ink, no credit. Condition 1" sliver lacking at fold. Gum arabic to seal flap browned, light soil, foxing spot. Lightly penciled name to back- can't read it. This letter. Written in black ink, was composed by brothers Walter Fox and Charlie Fox. They had other brothers, one of whom was Dwight, and a sister(name unknown) Return address is Washington, D.C. Fort Runyon, dated August 14, 1861. The brothers were stationed there. Mentioned is a soldier named John(another brother? who had Ague(malaria) Charlie writes about getting a"likeness taken" which is a photo. It's interesting reading, and very legible in both brothers' handwriting. Civil War Relics- Carbine Sling Hook,2 Brass Rivets,Kepi Buckle,Union Staff Etc.
Dug in the vicinity of Cold Harbor. Virginia, this assortment of Civil War relics includes a Union carbine sling hook(hook at end is pushed down and bent slightly) a Union kepi buckle, two brass rivets, a cuff size Union General Staff button(backmark consists of a ring(s) of dots) and a neat two piece button with gilt remaining and what appears to be a chalice holding a leaves as well as two clusters of grapes(one on either side of the chalice- this is just my interpretation of the image) All that I can decipher of the backmark is"EXTRA RICH, but this generally points to the button being of English manufacture. Unfortunately, the shank is missing, but the button displays nicely nonetheless. Cold Harbor was the site of two fierce battles, one in 1862, and the latter in 1864. This group of relics would make a nice addition to any collection.
