An old antique or vintage Union Flag measuring 50 inches x 34 inches or 127 cm x 86 cm. I am unsure of the exact age of the flag but one corner has Made in England imprinted to one corner. It has a stitched hem to the long edges and the short ones are self edged. It is in fair vintage condition but does have a hole approximately 20 mm in diameter to one long edge. WOW Never saw a toy like this before. I think it is a Marx brand plastic ride on tow truck that is advertising Union 76 brand of gas and oil. It is quite big and in very nice shape. It is modeled after a dodge.As seen by the front. There is a small crack on bottom of steering wheel but really have to look at it to see it and not really worth mentioning. Everything looks to be here,even the string and hook on the tow rig. Bottom has a metal plate. What a great piece to add to the collection. No reserve. Up for auction is a neat old item I found tucked inside an old architectural book I bought at an estate sale. It's a membership card for the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners. New York District Council, dated 1904. Signed and stamped. In nice shape with no tears or creasing. Bright and clean other than the stamp and writing. Measures 4 1/2 by 2 3/4. Up for auction is an estate-found(200 year old home in an attic trunk) ORIGINAL CIVIL WAR VETERANS COAT. This old woolen jacket has most certainly seen better days, but if you can appreciate items that are in their 100 percent UN-TOUCHED condition, please read further. This uniform jacket was worn by a local Civil War veteran while a member of the Sons of Union Veterans I'd assume, as there are a mixture of original Civil War sack-coat AND S.O.V(staff) type buttons. There are four buttons(2 C.W. 2 S.o.V) on the front, as well as 3 S.o.V buttons on the cuffs(one is missing on one sleeve) There is a good amount of soiling, some moth holes, etc, but it is exactly AS FOUND and once cleaned up a bit, will still display quite presentably. The jacket is un-lined, however there is one vertical internal pocket on the left side(wearers) seam, and ... moreanother on the right side(wearers) which is a deep horizontal pocket. The shoulders are both padded. The Civil War period eagle buttons are by Waterbury and Horstmann, respectively. I've elected to leave this jacket exactly as found, and will leave it up to its new owner to clean it up however he or she desires, so at present it won't necessarily win any beauty pageants, however how many Civil War veterans jackets do you see surface any more, in ANY condition? I have no idea of its size, but it's relatively small. If you collect Civil War or veterans items, this will be a nice, and rare addition to your collection. Up for auction is a vintage advertising/measuring glass made by Libby. The front of the glass has the UNION MADE logo in blue. An assortment of bottles in red, and in yellow, the pitch"You Get Full Measure And Guaranteed Quality When You Buy Products In GLASS" The 5 3/4" glass has the measurements for Cups on one side. Pints in the back, and Ounces on the other side. The bottom of the glass is marked with an"L" and there is a faint star with a 4 on each side. Measures 1 ¼” in diameter. Back of button is rusted. There is a logo between Brotherhood and Carpenters with a motto that reads: Labor Omnia Vincit. A Latin phrase meaning“labor conquers all things. When rumours first reached the Treasury in July 1918 that"a certain number of Higher Division Men" were planning to form an association. It was met with cynicism and a degree of hostility. Until the First World War. The Treasury persistently refused to discuss terms and conditions of staff with service-wide or departmental associations and constantly referred them back to the Heads of Departments. This is despite the fact that the Treasury controlled the purse strings and had, since the 1860s, tried to assert its authority over departments in establishment matters. The FDA formally came into being in January 1919. The original rules of ... morethe FDA state that its purpose was to"promote the efficiency of the public service and to consider and deal with all matters affecting the classes of the civil service included in the Association" Whilst the classes have long since been swept away.
