Up for sale is a vintage Union Made dome type hat. It is a gorgeously feminine hat! The base of the hat is a stiff netting with a pale green grosgrain band all around. The turned up rim(1 3/4" has a metal wire to keep it stand up. The meta wired is covered with strip of matching color velvet. Flowers with faux pearls decorate the whole hat. Vintage Ladies Union Made Black Wool Netting POGUE'S
Classic. Vintage, dressy black 100% wool felt hat with netting and a little"V" of grosgrain ribbon on the top. It has a Union Made label and a Pogue's label. Pogue's was a Cincinnati based department store that opened in 1863. It ceased operating as Pogue's in 1983. The hat is in good condition with no stains, rips or holes in the wool. 1950s MENS WHITE BUTTON PICKWICK WEDDING SUSPENDERS BRACES XL "UNION MADE" USA
Up for auction is a vintage pair of circa 1950 men's white/ off-white suspenders(braces) The leather-end button-loop not more modern clip type. They were recently found- dare I say rescued, with the hope of their being used once again or at least repurposed- at a New England estate in their original packaging, on which"Dad's wedding suspenders" is written in pencil at the top right. Nearby were wedding invitations for 1950 nuptials, so I'm pretty certain these are mid-century men's suspenders/ braces, in their original packaging, and possibly worn only once. Besides"PICKWICK" printed in fancy Old English style lettering on the top. The words"Smartly Styled" appear at the bottom front, in script. There's also a little tab, reading"EXTRA/ LONG" that came inside the package, and I assume ... morethis was attached somewhere at the front of the package. On the back there's a box, with gray on white type, that reads: GUARANTEED/ for Long Service/ Styled by skilled workers, and of the highest grade/ materials. MADE IN U. S. A. Under the box, the words"UNION MADE" are prominently displayed on their own. I could see no engraved words or stamped type on the metal or leather components of the suspenders. The condition of the braces/ suspenders is very good overall. I don't know if anyone would want to wear them again- you'd need proper vintage slacks with buttons by which to attach them. But maybe bespoke suits come with such trousers- though I'm hoping they'd be of interest to a vintage clothing dealer or a prop or costume person for stage, TV, or film. You can't get more authentic than these for a mid-century white wedding, right? There seems to be no damage to the off-white elastic webbing, and I can see some natural wear(rubbing) to the gilt-metal hardware, that is, the adjustment slides(which I didn't try moving, because the fabric may very well be discolored underneath) The packaging is a bit damaged- ripped, rubbed, smudged, and

The bottom 2 have flaps and the bottom right has an inside smaller pocket. The jacket is partially lined with 2 deep inside pockets.
