Vintage Singer 306W heavy duty industrial strength sewing machine, case, manual
This is a super heavy duty. All metal industrial strength sewing machine. Do some research on the Singer 306W and you will see that folks praise it for being a workhorse, able to sew leather, denim, strapping, upholstery material- while still able to sew fine fabrics also. This mid-century machine uses the Singer flat cam system. Comes with the#1 zig-zag cam, and I am including the#3 blind hemming cam, many folks say that is the most useful of the specialty stitches. You can have fun searching for more cams, in addition to the basic 6 described in the manual there are additional fancy stitches available. Machine has been cleaned and oiled. And stitches fine. We re-wired the light as the wiring on it was brittle and unsafe, and restored the original light fixture. I have seen some sellers remove these lights rather than repair them, as it ... moreis difficult to do, but I like my vintage machines as original as possible. It also has the original matching foot controller. I was in a fabric store the other day. And there was someone looking at a machine to sew bags with webbing straps and vinyl lining. She was looking at a modern, plastic machine- and all I wanted to say was go buy a mid-century machine, it will do what you want and never hiccup. This machine was made when it was normal for people to sew everything, repair clothing and tents, and upholster furniture. The 306 is Singer's Swing Needle machine. You can position the needle left, right or center, it comes with the all-purpose throat plate and all purpose presser foot so you can do zig-zag, ornamental or straight stitching. It is easy to find more Singer"Fashion Discs" and easily available low-shank attachments to give you more options. The manual is 104 pages. The cover is loose but all of the pages are there. I can also send you a pdf copy of the manual with your purchase if that is easier to use. It is a bit musty, as is the carrying case, but the cool pyramid shape of the case is pretty neat. Description Offered in great working and cosmetic condition is this vintage Singer 401 loaded with lots of extras. This machine has all metal constuction and is gear driven. With no belts to slip and no plastic gears to strip. I have tested. Cleaned, oiled and lubed this machine. It is a Zig Zag machine and does an awsome straight stitch as well as 30 patterns. This model does from 6 to 20 stitches per inch plus reverse. It is a slant machine for great visability and uses standered slant attachments. It has a light aliminum body machine for easy transport. This machine will come packaged with an original 401 attachments plastic box with tray insert loaded with all its original attachments and extra pattern cams. Also included will be a button holer and Circle stitcherfor extra versatility. It sews beautifully. It sews easily through layers ... moreof denim. Through layers of clothes leather or through delicate sheers. Be sure to use the right gauge needle for the material being sewn. The users manual describes how to oil and lube this machine, how to use the feet and adjust the tension for different fabrics. We have only used it once since we got it. But everything seems to be working perfectly. The belt seems to still have lots of life left in it(see pics) The machine can swivel off of the base for storage underneath(pretty nice! see pics. See pics for condition. Everything in pictures is included. The plastic base and cover have a few small cracks.the latches of the cover are intact but do not seem to grip the case. This is a rare Singer model 159-3 carpet binding machine. It is a super heavy-duty industrial machine. I purchased it with the intent of using it for some projects but ended up going another route. Consequently I never set it up for use. It is being sold exactly as I purchased it, with a sample piece of carpet showing the stitch. Up until I had purchased it this was used in a factory of some kind, my understanding was that the factory had closed. With proper setup and adjustment this should make an awesome machine for someone. This is HEAVY, the machine weighs about 95 lbs, I'll be shipping it in a custom made wood crate which I expect will bring the weight up to about 115 lbs. Up for auction here is an extremely rare industrial Singer sewing machine. The machine is a model 106-12. Specs according a Singer model database: Twelve needles. Twelve hooks. Speed 3300. Bed 17" 8 1/2" space to right of centre of needlebar. Single thread chain stitch. Oscillating hooks. Distance between outside needles max. 6" Max stitch length 6 to the inch. 12/1940) This machine was manufactured beginning on Sept. 22 1950. And there were only 300 made. The serial number on this particular machine is AJ860125, the first one created being serial no. AJ860121, making this THE FORTH ONE MANUFACTURED. This is likely one of the few remaining that have not been scrapped/destroyed in the world. I have only found one other of these online, and it was in a museum. Down to the condition. It was definitely well used. But also well-maintained. ... moreIt is a belt-operated device, and the arm still spins smoothly without any"Hiccups" There is a metal bar that when pulled raises the plate in which the needles push in to; it has been snapped away from whatever it was connected to, likely when the whole machine was removed from it's base. It is missing 8 of the 12 needles and 3 of the 12 screws that hold them in place. No other missing parts that I could locate. The painted graphics are in great shape for the most part, with only the"Singer" logo on the left side showing any prominent wear. There is also some small patches of rust on the baseplate, where the paint has worn away. Other than those slight nuances, it is looking great and WORKS great. No broken parts or serious damages. I gave it a fairly thorough cleaning, but more could be done with it, especially on the inner workings. This heavy duty machine was popular for it’s dependable use in sewing light leather and cobbler or shoe making and repair. This model sewing machine is still used today for harness repair. Horse saddle work and light leather work. It’s a very sturdy and versatile machine with the needle being able to rotate in a 360 degree rotation. This machine has not been hooked up to power but with normal hand rotation of the wheel we can see the machine operating properly and the bobbin under that spinning like it should. Singer 96-10 industrial machine made in 1920
It breaks my heart to sell old 96. She was made in 1920. It was the first industrial machine I bought about 10 years ago. I used it to sew patches on leather motorcycle jackets. The flash pictures make her look awful. It can handle about 4 layers of jacket leather before the loop starts missing. It is a bit of a pain to use unless you know how. It has no reverse. And you must turn your materiel around and sew back over your stitches to lock them. No problem with cloth but a real struggle to spin around and entire leather jacket. That's why I bought the reconditioned 1926 31-15 green machine you see in the pictures. Old 96 served many years in a sail maker and repair shop in Fort Meyers, Florida. After the old gentleman could no longer work some friends stored it in their garage and she got quite nasty. I gave it a good cleaning inside ... moreand out and a polish, and not surprisingly because of Singer's amazing toughness, it needed no replacement parts. It goes like lightning for a nearly 100 year old machine. I did re-lacquer the deck and polished that out because years of sail grommets had chipped off most of the black. I'll be retiring and moving in about a year, and I need to start getting rid of things. I'll miss her. It weighs about 55 pounds, and shipping would be horrendous. I have other machines listed and more on the way. This is a heavy duty sewing machine the nice feature on this one is the hand wheel can also be put on the shaft sticking out the side for easier operation. This is very old and has been used but anybody looking at this knows they last forever and still used for heavy duty sewing. This one comes just as you see it with what you see on it. I would say it needs a good cleaning and lube job. The wheel can be turned all the way around but it does get hard to move when the arm is in the farthest position of its pattern. I don't repair these but think if you know what you are doing this would be an easy fix. This is model 29K31.

The Model 285 is one of the best machines ever made by Singer as shown by it's longevity and buyer demand. Machine shows well with less almost NO wear and tear for a machine of this age(a few minor scratches) and really lives up to the Singer's legendary sewing reputation. We tested this machine and it runs strong, and penetrates and it's 3/4 size frame makes it ideal for on the spot repairs in a motorhome or boat. With all steel gearing and internal parts, this could very well be the last sewing machine you ever need to buy. These old steel geared machines are a little noisier than modern all plastic machines. This is for a singer 29-4. Been told it will stitch up to 3/8" leather. As far as I know all of the parts of the machine are original. If you have any questions I will check this every few days. This machine has been in the same family since the twenties. Thats what they told me any way. I recommend a buying an operators manual if you are not familiar with these machines. The base is included. It can also be run with an electric motor if you wish to convert it from it's original manual mode of operation.Treadle works, nothing broken that I have seen. As I said, it needs cleaned& oiled, appears to be functional. I dropped a little oil into the ports, aside from that I didn't even dust it off. Electric heavy duty sewing machine with the case. The serial is G4775133, dating it to 1916. This machine is from an Estate, I am told it was used for quilting and leather. It appears to be made of cast iron and it is very heavy. It does work when plugged in, however I did not thread it or know how well it actually sews. It seems to be in good condition. There is some paint loss on the wheel on the side. The carrying case does have some signs of wear, dirt marks, and scratches. One of the metal plates that holds the machine in place is broken.
