It has a Bakelite shade and metal arms and fixtures. The Singer sewing decal is partially intact and all I can read for the model is SLF and possible a 2. The Cord is intact but has crackling and fraying and has to be replaced. It has a Bakelite switch on the side of the shade. The plug is also Bakelite and original. It is a nice piece for restoration or to be incorporated into a lighting project. It has an industrial form. The Bakelite shade is not cracked but has light wear and aging commensurate with something this old. Total length is about 17 inches. The shade itself is 3 inches diameter at the opening and 5 inches high. This is a very rare cleaned& serviced 1951 industrial Singer model 17-23. The 17-23 is best used for shoemaking and general leather work. T he manual says the speed can go up to 1.200 stitches per minute when installed on a"power table" Serial number AK569167 dates it to October 17. 1951. Only 1,000 of this model were made that day, and it's a rare model. 4,000 total were made by the end of the year. Here are some other features of this machine. This machine has a cylinder bed. Oscillating shuttle, and provides 10 1/2' of clear working space. It has a reversible feed, alternating pressers, roller presser, and long beak high point shuttle. I t has a diameter at end of the cylinder of 1 7/8' and a maximum stitch length of 6 1/3' The feed position can be from the left or right of needle. This auction is for a vintage Singer 66 red eye heavy duty industrial strength straight stitch sewing machine serial# G9502493 made in 1922. These singers are built to last forever. These sewing machine models are all-steel geared, precision built very powerful super smooth running. This singer comes from our personal collection so bid with confidence. It's a strong straight stitch sewing machine. With this machine you can sew lightweight. Medium& heavy weight fabrics, will sew multiple layers of denim, vinyl and canvas, garment leather, bags, heavy goods or coarse cotton no problem. My sewed samples consist of 5 layers of leather and 7 layers of denim, sewed them with ease and nice clean tight stitches. The winner of this auction is going to be very pleased. We are sewing machine collectors and are very passionate about what we do. Which is to restore beautiful vintage sewing machines to the best that they can be. The styling and quality of the materials, along with the workmanship that went into these great machines, it just can't be duplicated today. You seriously cannot buy a machine this good new. This sewing machine just came off the restoration bench and it's sewing like a new machine. I inspected and rebuilt the upper tension for perfect stitches front and back. The motor. The bobbin case all inspected. Also, I take off the faceplate, the gear cases, the hand-wheel, slide plate, bottom plate and the back access plate to clean the old oil and grease build up. I clean out the packed-in lint and dust, remove the thread-jams, inspect the hook and the needle plate, installed new belt, bobbin winder rubber wheel and bulb. This is a really rare antique Singer sewing machine light model SLF-2. It has really interesting ball joints on it similar in functionality to the hugely popular OC White era industrial lights. The light is a matte black in great shape- just a bit of rust. It is complete save for the bayonnet bulb(obtainable from any Radio Shack) This is a sweet industrial lighting piece. This is a fabulous antique sewing table made by Singer Manufacturing in the early 1900s. This table is all original. It would be perfect as a sofa or foyer table. It has a wood top with burl wood inlay on the long sides. The legs are cast iron with great scroll work and little metal wheels. The table measures 29-1/2" tall, it is 56-1/4" long and 18-3/4" wide. It is in excellent condition. On close inspection it shows normal vintage scuffs and some rings on the top but nothing outstanding and no abuse. This table comes from a smoke free and pet free home, it is clean and ready to use. Model 269 W 26 This machine is in excellent condition and came from a working environment where it was used by a specialty shop that fabricated limited production corporate logo umbrellas for special events. This means that the machine even though manufactured for round-the-clock operation by Singer was only used very sparingly. Because the company ended up moving its manufacturing to Mexico. I purchased this to do some prototyping on webbing. As well as limited initial production, but needing a much larger x-box, I ended up not having machine modified for my needs due to cost vs. anticipated units produced, so I've decided to sell machine and contract the production out. Just like the Singer model 68 machines, this one can be modified to a pattern of your needs by several companies that ... morespecialize in this modification. The nice feature of this machine is the air lift foot that simplifies the operation for more rapid and precise production resulting in less operator fatigue which makes the system easier and safer to use over two pedal machines. The single pedal is the preferred setup for a machine like this and also enables some physically challenged operators to work on this machine. The machine works. Cycles the pattern as well as the foot lift/sewing cycle but because I didn't have the correct needle length to get a photo of the pattern as well as to get a precise dimension of the pattern, a shorter needle was used. The shorter needle was not adequate in length to engage the hook, therefore was not able to test the actual sewed pattern. The pattern is rectangular: 1/2" wide in relation to left/right of machine and 13/16" high in relation to front to back of machine. In other words, turn the pictured pattern 90 degrees and that's what machine will sew. Note position of foot frame and this will be easily understood. Singer 29K60. Long arm cylinder arm sewing machine for leather, saddlery, tack, harness, sail, canvas, etc. This is the long arm version. Having a lower arm of 18” in length. The presser foot will accommodate up to approximately 5/16 inch of leather or material. Depending on what you’re sewing. Serial# is ED326164. Indicating it was manufactured in 1946 in Great Britain. This machine was purchased back in July and completely gone through. It now sews flawlessly. And has had a new revolving bush handle and feeding motion ring slide bar installed. The entire unit has been taken apart down to the last bolt. Brushed, cleaned and has had several new parts installed besides those listed above. The machine then received 3 coats of primer. Was sanded, and has 2 coats of automotive grade paint, as well as 4 coats of clear coat, which has been buffed ... moreto a high shine. All the decals are new. And have been clear coated also. For those of you who are not familiar with the 29k series versus the 29-4. I’ll provide a brief summary: The 29K series was manufactured after the 29-4. With the optional 18” arm as well as the standard 12” This machine. Being a 29K series, has the newer presser foot pressure mechanisms, and has the LARGE bobbin and shuttle. Making re-winding of the lower bobbin less frequent. The handwheel can also disengaged by a simple turn of a knob and allows the bobbin winder to be utilized without turning the rest of the machine. This is very helpful if the necessity arises to fill the bobbin while sewing…no need to remove the work or clear the needle plate. This machine can be easily motorized or mounted to a treadle stand. Sale will include a copy of the original Singer instruction manual. Printed out in single page manner and bound in a soft binder. Please note: Those of you who may have parts on hand for the 29-4: Most parts of all 29 series Singer machines will fit this machine.
