They were incredibly well made and are still highly sought after by cobblers, harness makers, leather patch sewers, etc. This is an 18" long arm machine, not the 12" arm normally seen on the 29-4 class machines. This makes it easier to sew deeper into a boot or work with larger materials like tarps. Machine works great and is a difficult model to find. LOADED Singer 15-91 serial number AH902178(1948) Comes with pictured attachments. PLUS the zig zag attachment and extra cams for it. The paper manual is there for reference only. This machine does a great straight stitch with reverse and DIRECT DRIVE(aka potted motor) IT IS THE SMOOTHEST 15-91 I HAVE HAD. It has been in the same family since it was purchased new. They took good care of the machine. Replacing the power cord and motor brushes and keeping it properly lubricated. The decals are in decent shape with some pin scratching on the front"Singer" and the leading edge of the bed. Evidently they put their pins on the underside of the pin cloth. As a result. Most of the wear to the finish is on the underside of the arm and not readily noticeable. I did not notice it until I got it home and was cleaning it. You could set it up ... moreas a show piece and few people would notice the wear. If you need to do leather. Canvas, quilting and/or fine cotton this is the machine for you. Super quiet and smooth running when in use. The decals are intact and the paint is not faded. It was deep cleaned. Bobbin tire replaced, a ground wire for the case added, lubricated and the tension set according to the Singer standard. They used two layers of light cotton. Standard mercerized thread and a number 14 needle. I have shown in the pictures example pieces of its stitch quality. It flies through cotton quilt pieces. Handles 8 layers of cotton canvas(with number 69 thread and a number 18 needle) and punches through three layers of leather(almost 3/16" with a little help on the first stitch. Due to the weight of the product pick up only please. This machine was purchased a few years ago from a local seamstress that was closing shop. He had the plug adjusted to fit regular outlets. From what I see it looks like it could be converted back if you wish. The plug in does not have the ground pin anymore. There is a crack in the plastic piece at lever you push to go in reverse please see photo. This is a straight stitch machine that is a beast. The motor is quiet and it stitches smooth. The table is slightly rocky so that is why I use it on carpet. It is old I have no idea about the age. The thread holder attached to the table is rusty but I've always used it and it worked for me. The table shows wear with dents dings chips etc. But I consider it still to be very useable. I can only tell you what I know about the machine. The base measures 28-1/4 inches in height. 23-1/8 inches in length, 12 inches across the top, and 19 inches from leg to leg at base. This cast iron base is in great clean condition. The treadle foot works freely. The sides have the Singer Sewing Machine Co. logo with the gold paint applicant. This base is not all rusted up and works and displays nicely. Unless this turns out to be a local pickup, it will be disassembled for easier packing and shipping. This would make a great base for a table, or for many other functions. You won't be disappointed. singer industrial sewing machine fabric sew commercial textile stand
Up for sale is a used singer industrial sewing machine with stand. In very nice shape overall- removed from a working facility. Not sure on the model but looks to be well built. It is missing the small cover by the needle as the picture show. Can be used as is or easily replaced. Unit is 220volt. 3 phase. Buyer is responsible for arranging and paying for freight.
