This is one of the famous Japanese made Kenmore machines. These are among the best sewing machines ever produced by any manufacturer. This Model 148.12040 is one of the earlier models that is built like a tank. And this machine looks great. Obviously well taken care of over the years. It is an all metal machine so you can sew heavy materials without fear of ruining it. It has a plenty powerful 1.0 amp motor. It uses the short/low shank presser feet which is common and very easy to find additional feet if you need them. Ebay has plenty for sale by other sellers. This machine comes with a universal/combination/zigzag foot. That foot will do most any sewing. This machine also features the drop down feed dogs so you can do embroidery and darning. It will do straight. Reverse, and zigzag, and does them very well. It uses standard class 15 bobbins ... moreand standard needles. It also comes with a good foot control. As stated in the subtitle. This machine can sew heavy materials such as canvas, denim, vinyl upholstery, light leather, and Sunbrella, as well as very delicate materials. It's just a matter of changing needles and thread. And adjusting the thread tension. And a nice feature on most all the Japanese Kenmores is that the presser foot can be pulled up an extra amount with the lever so you can get thick. Fluffy material underneath. It will raise just about 1/2 inch total. This machine has a good case with it to protect it while not being used. Quad 4 Thread stand holder Industrial Sewing Machine age Vintage Cast Iron
Has marks from age. This has a brass hand nut on the top of the stand base it also has a brass sleeve into the cast iron bottom where the pole inserts into the top cast base with a square nut to tighten it on the top base. Item base marked SIMANCO 202490 I can not find any markings on the upper casting. Not sure if it was added to the bottom base from another or if it was made this way. The base shows a greenish color paint under the black paint where it is chipped. It also seems to be a little uneven on how the 4 spool casting sits on the pole 1/4 inch to 1/2. It has to have been that way when it was made because you can not bend cast iron. The stand is not bent. I never noticed it for the 30 some years it was on my machine. This is a rare original J.C. TAFT sewing machine patented in 1895. It is clearly marked and moved freely when cranked. When I bought this from a closed down museum I was told that it was a very rare example of a grain or feed sack stitcher. I tried to find another. But only found drawings of it under the google patent search. The mount is intact and it seems to be operable although I didn't thread it and sew anything with it. It is so interesting. And the exposed gears make it very displayable. The patent describes the unique loopy stitch it makes, and I think it would be wonderful for someone who makes pillows from grain sacks to reproduce that original stitching with this machine! 12 Antique Industrial Textile Mill Wooden Sewing Spools Bobbin Old White Paint
For your consideration is this group of thread spools from an old textile mill in South Georgia. They measure 9 1/4 x 5" and are quite heavy for their size. The center shafts are wood while the ends are a dense hard plastic that's actually hard to tell from wood especially on the painted end. One end shows nicely worn old white paint while the other end was obviously the"drive" end to wind and unwind the spool. These have been stored for years and all show varying degrees of wear. Making them just the thing for all sorts of country and industrial decor projects from candle holders to shelf supports. Most of them do have a sticker on one end which is easily removed. After that they are ready for your personal touch. Union Special Model 80600F Sewing Machine Bag Closing Industrial Heavy Duty
Union Special Model 80600F industrial sewing machine. Originally made for closing cloth or jute bags etc. I believe the 80000 series machines have also been used for carpet serging and other applications, but do not know if this machine can be adapted to such purposes. The 80000 series is still offered by Union Special. This machine appears to have had moderate use from the overall wear and condition. I would say the mechanical condition is very good; little if any play in the'conrod' bearing. Quite clean inside except where dust has entered through open areas, probably mostly during long storage. With the needle'shaft' at full extension I can feel almost no play in it it when trying to wiggle it from side to side. There is some light rust on some exposed steel surfaces. Which would be easily removed with a fine rotary wire ... morewheel; easy for me at least! We could discuss doing that here if the buyer wishes) There appears to be one end cover missing. But parts are available from Union Special or other suppliers. The manual for this machine is available for download on the internet. Personally I would use carb cleaner and compressed air to blow out the dust that has stuck to the oily surfaces and then lubricate. With the steel surfaces cleaned. The machine is probably ready to use as is. Please remember that I am not an expert on this type of thing, but I do have enough mechanical sense and observational skill to tell as much as I have here. This will need to be packed in a wooden crate. And bolted to the bottom of the crate using the existing mounting bolt holes, with internal bracing if required. Singer centurion industrial sewing machine w table w normal plug in w spool hold
Due to the weight of the product pick up only please. This machine was purchased a few years ago from a local seamstress that was closing shop. He had the plug adjusted to fit regular outlets. From what I see it looks like it could be converted back if you wish. The plug in does not have the ground pin anymore. There is a crack in the plastic piece at lever you push to go in reverse please see photo. This is a straight stitch machine that is a beast. The motor is quiet and it stitches smooth. The table is slightly rocky so that is why I use it on carpet. It is old I have no idea about the age. The thread holder attached to the table is rusty but I've always used it and it worked for me. The table shows wear with dents dings chips etc. But I consider it still to be very useable. I can only tell you what I know about the machine. I have ... moreoiled it frequently and it has always sewn nice for me. I of course recommend having it serviced like with any used machine. I am home all the time but am disabled and unable to lift anything or walk well at all so arrangements for help to load the item will need to be made a head of time. Machine has been lightly oiled with Authentic Singer Machine Lube and has had the timing and tolerances checked and is perfect. 6-30 Stitches per inch. Steel Class 66 Drop In Bobbins. Time proven Oscillating Hook system means no skipped stitches. Nice cords and original Singer foot controller.
