Antique Singer Model 20-2 Child's Miniature Toy Chain Stitch Sewing Machine. Ca.1914. This is the model with the added tension discs and 7-spoke handwheel but without the numbered thread path. The machine works smoothly. There is some enamel loss where the machine would get clamped. The rest of the enamel is nearly flawless. The decals are very crisp and legible. The nickel plating has been well retained with only minor loss; mostly needs a polish. Lovely green felt pad under the base. Excellent condition.

Thank you for looking at our Auction. This Auction is for a very old Singer Treadle Chain Stitch Sewing Machine. The Serial Number is 16660606. The patent date is April 13. 1886. The machine is in working condition. All parts move freely and the bobbin parts also move freely. We did try to sew with the machine but were not successful. We are not sure how to thread the machine. Without knowing that information. It is very hard to get the machine to sew correctly. The machine measures approximately 9" from the base to the top. The base measures 3 1/2" by 4" On the front and the back side of the base is where the screws go into the treadle base. We plan to ship using the US Post Office. Vintage Lintz & Eckhardt Chain-stitch Embroidery Industrial Sewing machine
Very Rare Vintage Lintz& Eckhardt Chain-stitch Embroidery Sewing machine. Made in Berlin. West Germany. Model 101 HS Basically the German clone of the Conely A3 or A5. Not sure which one. Threads just like the Singer 114w103 Comes with a#5 Nipple. Two feet, wire threader, original table. Machine sat for decades until I got it. It didn't move. But with some loving care and lots of oil, it spins like butter. I'm no expert at all on these and was able to get it to chain stitch for about an inch till I messed up the tension of my thread and broke the needle. So it does work but you'll need to get a needle. The original needle bar in included but seems to have both holes filled with broken needles so I'm including a brand new Cornely/Singer needle bar that works and slides in perfect. Machine lived in Hollywood it's whole ... morelife. 1930 WILLCOX& GIBBS ELECTRIC CHAIN STITCH SEWING MACHINE Famous for the beautiful stitch produced on either side of work and ease of removing or locking thread. This late model original machine is in very good working condition and would be excellent save for decorative imperfections. Black enamel chips and some wear of applied gold detailing downgraded quality. Note the serial# pic to see one of the black enamel corner chips. Another near electric motor grease cap. All original rubber parts in remarkably good condition(still pliable! considering its age. Original wiring good throughout and with working lamp. Westinghouse motor also very good with only moderate brush wear and good bearings. Thick by today's standards, the nickel plating is naturally shiny, not polished for photos. Some of the included needles are new and others barely ... moreused. Accessories and tools are as pictured plus a carry case key. Once one learns to thread the machine and finds the 19 or so oiling points marked on the machine and diagrammed in the manual(s) operation is straightforward and can be very fast if desired. Very important for set-up is that the foot pedal cord is what plugs into an AC 115V outlet and the plug from the sewing machine plugs into the foot pedal outlet. These machines were very popular for over 50 years with few changes to the successful basic design. Well made, sturdy with a stowed weight of 32.4 lbs, these were built to last a very long time when oiled and maintained. At this machine's last service, the elderly shop owner told me that W&G machines cost a man-year of Depression Era wages. W&G survived those times only through their industrial product lines but it was the end for this once so popular machine. At this same service, the felt drive-line dampeners as well as the thread spool cushion were replaced for good measure with new felt. This is an Antique Willcox& Gibbs Chain Stitch Electric Sewing Machine. Serial number A681271 on the machine and serial number 18848 on the base. I offer 10 years experience servicing sewing machines! I also list all"detailed" positives and negatives. So there are no surprises when your machine arrives. I even provide video proof that this machine works! This machine has been serviced and completely rewired and is 100% functional! These machines are all-metal construction which means they easily conduct electricity if a short is present. Marked on the throat plate is"PATENTED APR 13, 1888" It was designed to compete with Willcox and Gibbs chain stitch model and uses neither a shuttle nor a bobbin. It used a 24x1 needle(not included) and moves freely. It is a single thread chain stitch machine and was advertised for industrial and domestic use as well as a child's toy. ABOUT THE SINGER 20: When the Singer 20 toy sewing machine was introduced in 1910 it was in a league of its own. Although the Singer 20 was of a simple chain stitch design requiring just 40 components. It was very well engineered with a cast iron body. Compared to other toy sewing machines of its era, and indeed since then until the present, it is far more like a miniature adult machine than a child’s toy. I purchased this in hopes of getting it up and running and ended up finding a slightly better model and so this particular machine has been sitting on a shelf pretty much since I received it. When I purchased it I was under the assumption that it was in greater shape than it is and was disappointed to find out that it was in need of far more work than I was willing and able to provide. I would say it is a good candidate for a complete rebuild by a more talented mechanic than myself. And I would recommend it going to someone who has several of these machines to use as donors. Not to someone such as myself who may be feeling"mechanically ... morehandy" enough to take a chance on a cheap 43200G. This is not simply a cheap 43200G. It is a 43200G in need of repair. Although it is black this is not a"Black Head" machine. It appears to be a 2nd generation that someone painted to resemble the oldest generation of these machines. I am selling this"as is" parts only" because I do not want anyone to be under the assumption that it is more that what it is. It is not"sewn off" as I have not been successful in adjusting it to produce a suitable chain stitch. There is some minor surface rust on several parts. However I have cleaned and oiled most of the machine and there is nothing that appears that it will pose a problem. In fact the machine turns over fine and does not bind. Steel wool and scotch brite pads work wonders! There are some minor missing parts and these include some oiler cups and screws. Also it appears that the looper is part number"43208D" and so this is not the correct looper for the 43200G machine. The looper should actually be a 43208"G" part number. My recommendation(and what I had planned on) would be to couple this machine with another decent 43

First patent on left side says J.E.A. GIBBS PATENT- JUNE 2. 57. The last patent on right side says JAMES WILLCOX- JULY 4. 71. There is also an"inches to stitch" adjustor with adjustable readout on plate and a chart that says THREAD- SILK- NEEDLE- STITCH. In need of a good cleaning and restoration. It has a lot of surface wear. I am not an expert, this was my grandmother's machine, I think she used it with a treadle. To my novice eye, it appears that all parts are intact and there is even a needle still in place.

Here is a true. Heavy duty, industrial, chain stitch, sewing machine. A Singer 240 k 13 made in Great Britain. Used in an old glove factory, until it closed. It is truly a mighty mite- you'll notice the six inch ruler in the picture. It is easily half the size of a regular home model sewing machine. It's convenient size makes it easier to mount and move. You can check out the other one of these we have in an auction listing, which is pictured next to an antique Singer for size comparison) These machines are designed to make one type of stitch. A Chain-Stitch(pictured) and to do it well! It's simplicity is it's strong point. Fewer moving parts. They are unique as they use only one top thread- no bottom bobbin. Just a simple well timed looping shuttle beneath which grabs the needle thread as it travels through the fabric to ... moremake the stitch. This is also a self oiling machine. Meaning you fill the body with oil and it cares for it's own moving parts, the oil level is seen through the glass indicator(pictured) Now, this one is in good used condition with minor signs of age and wear, it has been well cleaned and oiled in the cleaning process but it will need to be oiled and filled when you receive it, as we can not send it full and dripping of oil in the mail. As an industrial/ factory model sewing machine it is capable of sewing just about anything you can throw at it with the proper thread and thread tensioning. This is a belt driven machine. Which means it needs a horizontal shaft motor with a pulley, to run- these can vary somewhat in size, in proportion to the jobs you are likely to be doing. The motor can be mounted below or above a table and connected to a variable speed foot pedal, or, on an actual industrial table there is a pedal that disengages the motor pulley from the belt but that takes it's own kind of motor. This Original Vintage Willcox& Gibbs Sewing Machine with a Scalloped Base was found at an auction. And it is in good condition, it dates to mid 1900. The paint on the machine is good, and the remaining Decals are Bright, the cloth plate has little tarnishing. The machine operates properly, everything moves smoothly when the balance wheel is turned. I don't know how to sew, but it appears to function normally. The machine measures approximately 10 1/2" X 6" X 8 3/4"H. Also included in this auction is a little oil can to keep your machine running smoothly. It measures approximately 1 7/8" diameter X 5"H. Original Willcox& Gibbs Chain Stitch Sewing Machine This is a lovely antique chain stitch hand operated sewing machine made by Willcox& Gibbs. It is in good working order. Model number A683177. From what I can tell it was made in late 1890s to 1900. There is patent information for the US and for England on the chrome plate- it was made in the USA but they had locations in New York. London and Paris. Black finish with nice gold painted trim decoration. There are a few wear spots to the black paint and some tarnish on the chrome plate that I think could be cleaned but I have not tried.
