The basket holds 4 quarts and measures about 7" high and 7" in diameter. The entire apparatus is about 24" tall when fully open. The lettering design of this press is unique in that the letters were not pressed into the iron like most of the of their units. Rather the letter is free standing adding a unique and artistic design. This device is fully functioning. The gears and handle easily turn, and it easily opens and closes. The metal has great patina. The black wood handle is in great condition with no cracks. There is a small crack on the inside of the cast which is why the repair strap was added. It is 36" long x 30" wide x 21" high and weighs 184 pounds. The deck measures 15 3/4" long and 7 1/2" wide.The overall length is 22 1/2" and it measures 14 1/2" to the top of the blade.It does move very freely and smoothly. I did not do a restoration, as I left the original patina/paint as-is, because I think it completely adds to the character of this piece! This is an Antique(1920's or 1930's would be my guess) American Slicing brand(Chicago ILL. CAST IRON, Meat Slicer. This is a WORKING(motor works-I have not actually tried to slice any meat with the machine) table top meat slicer(weighs in at about 150 pounds! It is in very good condition for its age, with most of the paint intact, the decals intact, with Excellent Patina. I believe it to be 100% complete, it has its Original Porcelain plate, that the sliced meat falls into(no cracks or breaks, Very Heavy Porcelain! and the Original pusher, to push the meat into the rotating blade. The motor was made by Westinghouse and its a full 1/4 horsepower, turning the blade at 1725 rpm, it runs on standard 110 house current. The unit is 25" long, 20" wide and 15" high. This Antique Cast Iron Meat Slicer, would make a nice center ... morepiece for a well equipped kitchen, or it could be used in a commercial establishment as well.
