50 years ago my uncle bought this BERKEL meat slicer from a butcher shop on Kedzie AVE. in Chicago.Had it shipped to Florida, and it was always kept inside. It is 36" long x 30" wide x 21" high and weighs 184 pounds. Add 10 pounds and 5 1/2" for a wooden frame truck with 5 wheels that is usefull to move it around.Buyer pays for all shipping and crateing, if needed.The knife-blade dia. is 14 3/16" and 2 1/2 revolutions of the blade equals 1 revolution of the hand crank.The meat carriage is removable for easy cleaning,it is not gravity feed,but is mechanical feed,and is adjustable for thickness of slices.Two rotations of the hand crank equals one slice of meat.A mechanical wonder made during the industrial revolution in the U.S.A. This slicer sat on a shelf for a long time therefore accounting for its good/excellent condition. I have taken the machine apart, cleaned every part, making the machine fully functional and in working order. I did not do a restoration, as I left the original patina/paint as-is, because I think it completely adds to the character of this piece! This is stamped in a few spots with different model numbers such as#VBP which is located on the Van Berkel brass tag. It is also stamped 2002A on the inside of the wheel. This listing is for a very nice. Working antique meat slicer. Was recently purchased from a local rancher who was using it up to the point he sold it. I believe this is a 1920s or so machine. Still has a lot of the original red paint. The white enamel tray that the meat falls into is removeable. It has adjustments from paper thin to 1/2" It has a built in blade sharpener that works very well. When running its is very quiet with no unusual sounds. The motor is 1/4 hp and the blade spins at 1725 rpms. Very nice, useable slicer. Perfect for hunters or home butchers. Its measurements are 26" long x 16" high x 22" wide. Antique American Slicing Machine Model 52 meat slicer still works
This is an antique commercial slicer from the early(very) 1900's. It was used in my neighbors great grandfathers deli in Chicago. It is incredibly heavy and could use a little cleaning but everything is original to the best of our knowledge. It still operates and has a self sharpening setup. I left the patina on it incase there are true antique people interested in it. But if you want it for use, then a little brillo will remove for sure. Antique Meat Slicer / IBM / Dayton / Berkel / Hobart /General Store 1930s 1940s
Price drop. This has to go. Here we have an antique meat slicer from the 1930s or perhaps the 1940s. It spent its life in a small general store in small town. We have had the slicer in our collection for over a decade. Here at the Dominion General Store, but we have decided to part with it as we are downsizing. There are no identification plates on it. Besides the one numbered tag. It is very hard to read the yellow painted writing on the top of the base, but it does read"Property Of Berkel Products Co. Limited, Canada" I have emailed Oliver Kuebe of www.myslicer.de and he states that he has never seen such a thing, and despite that, it is not a Berkel model and should be a Dayton, perhaps IBM or Hobart. I did some research and found that Berkel opened an office in the Hobart manufacturing bulding in 1929 in Toronto. Perhaps Berkel ... moremarketed other brands to a narrow Canadian market. These have several moving parts. Complex but simple. I refuse to sell this with a one line description, it would not be fair to you, me, or the machine. It has only one small operational defect, and that is a small drift pin needs to be replaced that holds a lever onto a shaft, explained below. Youtube video link at bottom shows it working, and some more details reflected in the description below. This machine was always inside and never out in the elements. No cracks or damage to the base. Which has original paint with the black pinstripe. The flywheel turns freely as it should, with no play or slop to the movement, and gets to speed like butter. Wood handle is there on the flywheel, a small piece of tape suggests the wood may be cracked. Some flaking and rusting to the chrome throughout(nickle? although it will overall polish up remarkably well. No broken teeth on the gears, and the chain is tight(underneath) The frame rails that the action slides left/right on are not rusty or pitted(had a well greased life) The blade is razor sharp, the rear upper collector plate stop comes off as it should by turning the knurled lock scr

antique berkel meat slicer and pedestal
1920's berkel slicer and pedestal. This set is from Canada and was sold by Hobart in Toronto. This slicer is almost identical to the one that was on American Restoration. The slicer is only missing one of the two clips that keep the milk glass from sliding around and a small knob for the tray advance crank. Neither part affects the slicers operation. The pedestal is a vintage cast iron meat slicer pedestal but might be for a different slicer with a slightly bigger foot print than the berkel I'm selling it with. The berkel does sit on it but might be better with a butcher block cutting board in between them. I don't have time to restore them so I have to let them go. This is an Antique(1920's or 1930's would be my guess) American Slicing brand(Chicago ILL. CAST IRON, Meat Slicer. This is a WORKING(motor works-I have not actually tried to slice any meat with the machine) table top meat slicer(weighs in at about 150 pounds! It is in very good condition for its age, with most of the paint intact, the decals intact, with Excellent Patina. I believe it to be 100% complete, it has its Original Porcelain plate, that the sliced meat falls into(no cracks or breaks, Very Heavy Porcelain! and the Original pusher, to push the meat into the rotating blade. The motor was made by Westinghouse and its a full 1/4 horsepower, turning the blade at 1725 rpm, it runs on standard 110 house current. The unit is 25" long, 20" wide and 15" high. ANTIQUE OR VINTAGE AMERICAN SLICING MACHINE MEAT SLICER. FEATURES A HAND CRANKED FLYWHEEL AND A BUILT IN SHARPENING ATTACHMENT. LATEST PATENT DATE IS MAY 18.1920! BEAUTIFUL OLD MACHINE WITH THE ORIGINAL FINISH! Sellers of similar American Slicing Machines indicate that this may have been a Berkel Slicer patent. I don't know for sure. I purchased this many years ago in a real world auction and put it into storage and never got it cleaned up& up and running. It needs a good cleaning and oiling(or greasing) It seems to pretty much all be there except there seems to be a plate missing where the slices would fall. It came with a stainless steel plate that was not attached but it is too small to cover the missing plate. I don't see where else it could attach so I'm not even sure if it belongs with this machine. I'm including ... moreit in the auction so maybe you can figure it out when you receive it. This machine features an automatic. Or semi-automatic operation. When you turn the handle/flywheel the blade spins and the meat table moves back and forth. I'm not sure how you adjust the slice thickness. The little handle near the big flywheel handle moves something back and forth but I'm not sure exactly what it's doing or if it is working properly. The little handle on the right moves the meat table in towards the blade plus I think it has another function but I'm not sure what it is. The adjustment knob up near the top of the machine must do something but I'm not sure what. That knob seems to be a little bent but it still seems to turn OK. Like I said I've never really tried to get this set up on a bench& go through it and get it up& running. The main issue that it seems to have is that when you crank the handle to turn the blade, the blade goes from rubbing against the side near or on the side of the table for a second and then the next second it's around 1/2 inch away from the side of the table. Rare antique Hobart Commercial Meat Cheese Slicer Model 311 Countertop Works
Super rare Hobart model 311 meat and chesse slicer. These were made in the 1920's and early 30's. They stopped making the manual in 1938. It is missing the upper hand shield and the original switch is broke but works 2hen plugged in. All knobs are present and works greqt. The slide is very smooth and operates like new. There is also a small chip in the blade. For it's age it is a wonderful machine and very rare to find in this condition. Due to the weight of 102 pounds I cannot ship. Local pickup only.

A metal piece has a crack but does not affect the operation on the slicer and it appears to be a crack only, it is not loose. Please view photos carefully. Sold"as is" This brand is a RARE old slicer the only one on ebay, they don't come up for sale very often. It is in good condition and very clean for its age. This would beautiful restored and displayed in a restaurant or in a home once refinished. The meat blade rotates to slice the meat. Meat blade is 12" Will ship to 48 only due to weight.
