I'm selling my lime-green Boss FA-1 FET Amplifier. If you're looking at this you know how rare this item has become. Built in the early 1980's. The FA-1 delivers super clean boost for your guitar sound and can be used for a variety of applications; from simple signal boosting(e.g. making your tone louder) to kicking your tube amps into beautiful natural overdrive to simple signal leveling(adjusting the volume level between channels or pedals) to overdrive your favorite overdrive pedal for even more growl, the FA-1 does all this and more. The pedal has been made famous by U2's The Edge who has been using the Boss FA-1 since the early 80's and it is still a mainstay in his most recent live rigs. Technically the pedal is in perfect working condition with many more decades of life in it. It's a collector's item but ... moreconsidering it's age the enclosure has suffered a few dings and scratches on the paint(nothing too major. Please see the picture) It comes with the black battery compartment'door' but not with the belt clip. Ovation FET-3 Preamp / 3-Band Equalizer (used taken from an 80's-90's)
This is a Ovation FET-3 Pre-amp/ 3 Band Equalizer out of my 12 String Ovation Custom Balladeer. I removed this unit thinking that it had a problem as my guitar would cut-out during playing sessions through the PA system. I replaced the 3 prong 1/4" jack and still had a problem. So. I bought a new Ovation iDea Opi-1(with all of the bells& whistles) cut away on my bowl to make it fit(not recommended! and had everything looking pretty good. Plugged in my original Ovation under-the saddle pick-up and had the same problem. The Ovation dealer told me the the FET-3's usually last a lifetime, then sold me a new ovation pick-up that just plugged into my new pre-amp. So my problem was always in my pick-up and not my pre-amp. This Pre-amp will ONLY fit the older Ovation with the rectangle hole. all you will need to do is re-glue the battery ... morecompartment into the bowl of your guitar via the sound hole. Vintage FET and Silicon Transistor Guitar amp with reverb and tremelo
Here is a vintage FET and silicon transistor amp head with tremelo and reverb. I do not see a brand name or how many amps output it has. But it does say is was made in Japan. I went through and cleaned up the pots and tighten the input jacks. Nice classic sound, the foot control(one jack two switches) for the tremelo and reverb is missing. I guess this little guy puts out anywhere between 5 and 15 amps output. Original two prong power plug. Three input jacks in the front and a speaker jack in the rear. It has speed and intensity control for the tremolo; Reverb control, Tone control, and a Volume control that doubles as the on/off power switch. It is about 14 1/4 inches wide, by 7 inches deep, and 5 inches tall. In very good working order, but must go, I am cleaning out my collection. Neumann SM 69 FET (Stereo U87)
Here is a stereo microphone by German microphone company Neumann. This microphone has recently had all four capsules serviced and tested by ex-Neumann microphone technician Gunter Wagner. The mic is from the late 70's but it is confirmed to be in fantastic condition! This is actually two multi-pattern U87 microphones that are arranged in perfect alignment so can be used as X/Y co-incident pair. Blumlein pair, or a mid/side arrangement. Alternatively you can use just one capsule for mono. The versatility combined with the sheer quality makes this mic just gobsmacking! I'm so disappointed that I have to sell it! At the time I was using a 78' 50 watt JMP master volume and 74' 100 watt Super Lead(with a power soak) I was able to get all the harmonics and sustain I wanted at much lower volumes and it would clean up if I backed off the volume pot. This makes the input more resistant to overload by hot signals. After the input transformer, the signal is attenuated by the same gain reduction FET as in the MC77. Neumann FET 80 type N 452 ig - PS
Picked this up at the original Power station studio auction in NYC. You can hear the difference between this unit and console phantom power. To me it sounds more"stable" and up front. Who knew? I used it with my vintage U87 and KM 84.Very cool piece of gear. Below is info from the Neumann web forum. Henrik. In the mid/late 1970s Neumann sold a miniature portable phantom power supply called the N 80. fet 80-series microphones such as the KM 84, U 87 or U 89 required But the N 80 was the definite exception. All other phantom power supplies that Neumann sold for the fet 80 series(e.g. the N 452) could already produce enough current for present-day Neumann transformerless microphones. E.g. 3 mA per microphone or thereabouts. and then there was the N80 G. Which was for a single 48V powered microphone and capable of powereing the first ... moregeneration of transformerless microphones(TLM 170i) The first generation of phantom powered microphones employed a single FET as their impedance converter/amplifier, which did indeed require less than 1 mA of current from the phantom power source, whereas the more complex electronics in a contemporary transformerless microphone may require 3 mA or more. Lowering the source resistance in the first generation power supplies like the N80 would make them compatible with the requirements of most contemporary phantom powered studio microphones.
