Antique TOWLE STERLING Cream & Sugar Bead Edge "MRF" Monogram 198gr w/PROVENENCE
This is a Cream& Sugar set by Towle Silversmiths. I am unsure of the pattern. But possible"Old Colonial" or"Canterbury" there is beading along the handle's edge, but very bold beading along the opening edge. Both are marked on the bottom with the Towle hallmark dating it to 1890 or after. This hallmark is the uppercase cursive T with standing Lion inside. Marked STERLING underneath hallmark, and 5500 D after this. Interior is very clean and goldwashed. The set weighs 197.7 grams = 6.97 ounces. Creamer measures 3" in height and 3 1/2" in width. Sugar bowl measures 3" in height and 4 3/4" in width. I am including handles in width measurement. As stated in condition note. There are some small dings present, as this set was used and loved. To be exact, I count six total. Most are unnoticeable when ... moredisplayed, but I like to note everything I see. My last two photos show a couple on the front side. Other than this. The set could use a polishing but I will leave this up to the buyer.
