Mark VII Car Wash Aqua-Jet SCR w/ Vortex Blowers We have now scrapped the main frame of the car wash. We still have and are selling the motor/pump combo and the control units. It is a CAT 3535 Pump and 20HP Electric Motor. We have not tested either one. But both looks physically okay. Let us know if you are interested in any of these. Up for auction is this used Mark VII Car Wash Aqua-Jet SCR w/ Vortex Blowers. The car wash was removed in working condition. At least I was told that. I don't know what may have been broken in disassembly and moving. It was disassembled by the professional installers. I don't know if they drained the water from it after unhooking. There is a decent bit of corrosion on it and some decent rust in some areas. There isn't a key included. But the switch turns without a key. I took a look inside of the ... moremain control box on the back of the left side. It appears to be overall in pretty decent condition. There were a few wires disconnected and a few parts laying inside. I also notice a little rust along the bottom where the wires run in. No major damage. For the main unit. There is what looks to be a broken/rust pipe at the front of the right side of the car wash. What is left of the pipe is quite rusted and falling apart. Also included are the rails that the car wash moves on as well as the vortex blowers that dry the car off. The final piece needed to complete an advanced“US invasion bag” collection. Manufacture stamp shows April 1945. So this was clearly something created to help in the final battles in the Pacific War– ready in time to see some action on Okinawa and certainly something that would be of use in that ultimate D-Day- the anticipated invasion of Japan. The case is in great shape. All the rubber is clean and flexible and supple. No rips or tears or holes. Seams tight. The canvas straps are in great shape- strong and clean. Buckles are rust free. The cool part about this case is that– unlike the other Signal Corps rubber invasion bags we all know about– this one ... moreis built not just to transport the radio but built in such a way that you can operate the radio while it is still protected inside the bag. So the beach masters and assault troops could set up shop right on the wretched beachhead without fear of sea spray and sand destroying their comm gear. Near the rear of the case. The bag has a rubber sleeve to protect an AN-29-C antenna. Another rubber sleeve is up front to allow you to plug in a TS-13 handset or an HS-30 headset and T-17 microphone. There is a large flexible rubber cover on the front that allows the radio operator to adjust the power switch and crystal selector. I ship only to registered PayPal addresses in the lower 48 states. Here's another parts by the pound auction. It's actually 1.34 pounds. But some of it is mounting hardware. Please don't ask what part numbers are here. They are as organized in these pictures as they ever were. I see some 200V 25A Triacs and at least 1 400V 25A. Many are brand new. Others are used pulls-some cleaned up and some with short wires still on the leads. The part numbers I looked up were all Triacs. But there may be some SCR's or transistors in the mix. There are parts here to build a variable voltage AC power supply that can control the temperature of a heater. Brightness of a bulb, power in a spot-welder and probably 2.5 zillion other things. My dad gave me a fully assembled and fully functioning 1898 Krag-Jørgensen rifle when I turned 16. Being mechanically-minded and wanted to"clean up" the piece I immediately set to disassemble the rifle. Clean the parts and(sadly) sand and refinish the stock. Decades passed with the rifle never being reassembled and with some important parts(namely the barrel and receiver) having long ago disappeared. BC-455-A 6-9.1 SCR-274-N RCAF Command Receiver Working!
I've decided to sell off part of my collection. So check back often for more WWII commo items. Up for your consideration is a military modified BC-455-B Command set receiver that served in the Royal Canadian Air Force. The frequency range is 6 to 9.1 mcs. It has one of the best depot-performed modifications I have ever seen. Namely. Eliminating all of those pesky, leaky'can' style caps that were standard from the factory. They were replaced with axial caps(mostly.05 mfd. that are commonly available. The holes where the original cans resided were closed with aluminum rivets. All the axial caps were mounted to a special bakelite board engineered specifically for the command receivers(see pics 4& 5) After working(read: playing) with these sets for 40 years, this is the only one from our northern neighbor that I've seen. I'm ... moresure there are more out there, but I haven't see them. The radio ran good on my bench for over an hour tonite and showed no problems. The BFO works, too. I've checked the tubes w/ my TV-7D, which all measured strong. It could use a gentle cleaning, or if you prefer, leave that fine patina alone. I'll leave that up to you to decide. It has it's share of dings and scratches on the outer skin, but is also 60 to 70 years of age, too. The front adapter box is pushed in from being bumped or smacked into something, but it still works as it should. It is an original, unmodified(outside of the military, that is) example of a very famous set of radios. One can tell the'ol gal has been around for many years. Thanks for looking. Although this is a working radio. I am selling it as-is. Due to its age and taking that long bumpy ride to your house, I cannot guarantee it's going to work upon arrival at it's final destination.
