Two are marked with Black paint. Two are marked with Red paint. Continuity is in one direction in the Red and the other direction in the Black. The four round diodes look like they are made for PC board use. All nine of the Diodes have had their junctions tested with an Ohm Meter for short and open conditions. Unusual package Includes original box and heat sink(see photos) From the TI History Site: The device was first developed in 1955 as the X-36 for a servo-amplifier by increasing the cross section of the bar to 125 mils square giving nearly 5 times the cross sectional area of the first silicon transistors and soldering the collector end to a copper header. This was developed into the 970 which was the same as the X-36 except for the package. The emitter was grounded through the case with the direct connection improving thermal cooling. The JEDEC registration of the 970 is 2N122. These transistors had a rating of 8.5W at room temperature. Pioneer AWR-101 Power Supply SX-850 SX-950 New Caps New Diodes New Transistor
This listing is a Power Supply AWR-101 removed from a working Pioneer SX-950. I originally intended to keep the receiver and this power supply as I have serviced this board months ago. Then I discovered the receiver has tuner problems. I will be selling parts from this receiver now. I chose to use a diode block 50amp(GBPC5006) for the main power amplifier supply. This diode is used in many higher powered amplifiers and fits well on this board. The six other diodes are 1N4004G units. All electrolytic caps have been replaced. Q5 was replaced with a 2N3440 w/heat sink for improved reliability. This transistor is used to supply 36.5v to the power amp input stages, the tone circuit, and the linear amp circuit. It also feeds power to Q7 which provides 28v to the RIAA phono circuit. Q5 also provides power for the speaker relay and protection board. ... moreThe 2N3440 is better suited for this application as it is a 1watt 1amp device far improved over original equipment. R23 was replaced with 10ohm 2watt metal resistor. Zener diodes were left original. A schematic diagram is included scanned from an old manual. This power supply board is tested and priced to sell.
