This amplifier is not the best looking piece of equipment but it works like a champ. Nominal 13 VDC power. Female SMA in and out. I have tested it in my lab using 10 milliwatts of drive. It draws fairly high current being a true Class A linear amplifier. It was designed and built to Military Standards. At 15 VDC it drew 1.1 amps of current. The following shows input and output levels at different frequencies. 2304 MHz. 10 mW of drive; 2200 mW output 3456 MHz. 10 mW of drive: 3300 mW output 4000 MHz. 10 mW of drive: 4200 mW output Gain for the 3 frequencies was approximately 22 dB. 25 dB and 26 dB. With the pad engaged it can handle very high SPL sources such as kick drums and guitar cabinets. which was consequently my favorite mic for both! Carvin FET400 FET 400 in Non-working Condition.
This auction is for a Carvin FET 400 amplifier. It is missing a 120mm AC fan. The old one was shot. They are a very universal fan so I tossed the old one. The two leads that go to the fan were just clipped off at the fan and will need to be attached to the new one. The fan was the standard 20 watt unit which ran at 115v 60hz. I know they sell them at Radio Shack but you could probably order it online(possibly Ebay? for less than $10 and have it at your house at the same time as the amp. I was told they are a great sounding and durable amplifier. I was going to get this one working and use it for a home audio setup I have planned but I don't have a way of testing it so my loss is your gain. Get it cheap and fix it as these go for $100 through $150+ It is sold as is in nonworking condition. I bought item 110839156876 on ebay and replaced the power board with those. Please search for the item number on ebay for more details. I also bought a new power supply board with new capacitors and a rectifier bridge. There is a total of 40.000uf on this board. I do this for a hobby. This is one of the many amplifiers I bought on ebay with issues and installed another power board in it. I don't do this for a living and I'm not a professional in this area. I did work repairing audio equipment in the 90s, though. My goal is to test out the interesting boards I see on ebay. The only problem is that I started accumulating too many of those at home. I ... moreneed to let some of them go. Here is my feedback about these boards: Solid base. Unbelievable how these two small boards can push so hard my speakers. Nice medium. Voices are clear. Reasonable treble. Not bad for the price and amplifier class of these boards. But don't expect a tube kind of treble:o) This amp can easily be used in a stereo set up or as a sub woofer amplifier(2 X 250W. Not bridgeable) Please note that the bar-graph VUs work in a weird way. By looking at the schematics. I cut from the original board only the VU components and connected them properly to the new power boards. The VUs start working when volume is quit loud and go all the way up with a little touch up in the volume. They do work, but honestly I don't like they do, so don't expect to see a very nice bouncing VUs, they are not. I have been using this amp for about 2 months now. 1 to 2 hours daily. The boards barely get warm. I keep the volume at a reasonable low scale, though. I will pack it really well and add insurance. If anything happens in shipping. I will refund full amount paid. Guyatone Fuzz 2000 (FET based Fuzz Face) Pedal
Up for auction is the Fuzz 2000 pedal from Guyatone. Guyatone spent some time studying classic fuzz face circuits but found that using germanium transistors posed some inherent problems. Germaniums are temperature sensitive and produced with such wide tolerances. No to germanium fuzzes sound exactly the same. Their solution was to create a circuit similar to the fuzz face, but employ FET based transistors to avoid the negatives of using germanium. The result is the Fuzz 2000. It is touch sensitive just like a germanium based fuzz, and still capable of wide open hairy fuzz tones. Plus, the graphics are so bad they're good.
