Has been recapped, all electrolytic capacitors were replaced with Nichicon audio grade caps, the big 4 filtering caps are still in very good condition and not replaced. Also 2 RCA input were changed to better grade gold plated ones. Adjusted and calibrated. The amp sounds very nice and almost tubelike. The amp is from Japan and works on 100v. Its rated 290 watt. Their model"FET-SPT RS" by the maker's label; it is of unknown age, possibly vintage or semi-vintage; not much of a guitar player myself, just appreciate nice instruments so picked this up for resale, found the generic case at a second hand store and grabbed it to give the guitar a little extra protection during shipping. Had a friend test it out on an amp, sounded good and he said everything is working properly; also in overall pretty nice condition, sorry about the smudges in the listing pictures-they definitely show up more in the enlarged photos/under flash than they do in hand! Retains original label inside; has a rub mark/few rub scratches on the back lower edge of the body and a small nick or two on the front as seen in photos but overall appearing ... moreto have had little use; all strings are in place and intact. Made in UK by ADR"Audio& Design Recording" Express Limiter compressor expander. maker of the compex, vocal stressor, panscan and other goodies. The Express Limiter uses FETs just like compex circuit.instant zep"levee breaks" drum room sound. Great on other things too(guitar, bass, vintage keyboards, etc) 3 Selectable compression ratios, selectable PEAK or RMS mode, limiting mode, and EXP expanding mode. I like peak on drums for max slamming, or rms for more natural drums and on bass, guitar can go either way, both great useful modes. Faster more aggressive is peak. RMS is a bit smoother. When in compression mode if you hit it real hard and use lots of input gain which controls the threshhold then the limiting will come on above the compression by design, or set for limiting only and it slams more than youd ever need, ... moreor just take off the peaks lightly and transparently. THE SOUND: Very fast grabbing yet smooth and open. So you can level almost anything nearly flat as a pancake with tons of gain reduction so naturally without artifacts or loss of highs or lows, adding tons of punch that just becomes part of the sound so perfectly that it all blends as one.the magic glue. I have 2 of these and am keeping one, love them, just dont need 2 stereo units. Works perfect all around, and very clean condition, barely a mark on it anywhere, and the gold anodized top and bottom are still nice and shiny without marks. Brand new battery installed by pro audio tech(the battery saves the last used front panel button mode settings) Also while the tech was in there replacing the battery, he recapped the main big power supply caps even tho it didnt need it, but is good to do on vintage gear as preventative maintenence. He also set the extra internal switch settings for pro recording use instead of radio station use, as there are a bunch of extra switches inside for radio use that we dont want set on for musical recording use.i can explain them later if you are curious.
