KOMO VR-508 CNC Router
We're the second owners of this machine and have had it since 2004. It has been used on and off over that time to machine polypropylene sheets. It has been in almost daily(weekdays) use in that capacity for the past several months. We're getting a larger machine delivered in the next week or two and need this router removed when the new one arrives. Make: Komo Model: VR 508 Year: 1992 Runtime Hours: 3924(this is displayed in the control but this seems impossibly low– maybe it was reset at some point) Table: 2” x 5’ x 8’ aluminum table with ½-13 threaded holes on 6” x 6” grid While it serves our machining purposes all is not well with the machine. Known defects: no vacuum system(table or pump) one spindle inoperative- not sure what the problem with it is. Oil on occasion drips onto table- spindle drive issues– a component on the AC spindle drive had to be replaced 3 years ago. Since then M05 commands don’t stop the spindle they just cut power to it and it slowly spins to a stop- control keyboard is the membrane type and many buttons are worn and cracked. Reset” especially so and look like it could fail at any moment. remote pedestal cord is severed- often when power and air supply are off the head will drop below the lower limit switch if left unsupported. When turned back on control will display“401 servo drive alarm” and/or“Z+ over-travel alarm” when homing- because there is no vacuum system a warning appears at the start of each cycle that the vacuum pressure is low. I assume there’s a parameter to correct this but have gotten used to double-tapping cycle start so have left it as is. when program is reset and rerun“alarm 011” will always appear. It works well has 3 stepper motors(x y z) Controller(which controls the steppers from a pc parralel port I wired in the controller to turn the spindle motor on and off. It is missing the spindle chuck but i am sure it can be bought inexpensively I packaged the controller in a nice box to keep it all enclosed. added some limit switches to keep the machine from killing itself as well as homing. added an emergency stop switch for safety. I do not know if this is operational or not so I am selling it for parts. I purchased a Router Master 52 from a sign company that was closing. The owner told me that the Router Master had a problem with one motor on the X axis. He purchased another motor and that did not fix the problem. He then purchased another controller board and that did not fix the problem. My guess is he switched out the wrong board. About this time the PC that ran the CNC quit so he gave up and le it set. I am including the spare controller board and the operator’s console. I did power up the operator’s console and the display worked. I did not try the controller before I removed it. Used Perske 7hp 380/480V 300hz CNC router spindle. Air Cooled. 18000 RPM max. spindle speed. SYOZ 20 spindle, includes spindle nut and a single 1/2" used collet. Was removed from a running machine. The machine it was removed from was used primarily for plastic prototyping work. The control indicated 26k hours of use, but it is unknown how many of these hours was with the spindle on. Worse case scenario is 26k hours. The spindle ran fine when removed with no funny sounds, smells, or runout issues.

1989 Thermwood Cartesian 5 3 axis router control cabinet. Complete. This unit was removed from functional service approx. 60 days ago to retrofit the machine with a different industrial controller. The machine was running without errors prior to removal and there is no reason it shouldn't turn right back on when hooked into another Thermwood machine. This particular unit has 3 axis of servo control, complete comm boards, programming pendant, etc. Nothing has been removed or altered since it was pulled from service. All of the machine leads were removed at the control via the terminal blocks. No wiring was cut. Also included in this auction is a complete Cartesian 5 factory manual including electrical schematics, programming guides, etc. The cabinet has an A/C unit which doesn't appear to be functioning at the moment. All of the air ... moreconditioner components look fine but there are a few wires which are loose. Its operation may require some tinkering. The control cabinet is in very good condition and includes floor stand feet(not installed at time of photos) which lift the box approx. 14" off the floor. Reluctantly selling my K2CNC brand KT-1414 CNC desktop router as I have no room to set it up and my little baby prefers I play with him instead of my gadgets anyway. I purchased this CNC several years ago to do some V bit engraving and it has not really seen much use at all. Just a few little experiments and projects. It has a usable area of about 14 inches square(however it will hold longer material under the gantry) and the Z up and down travel is about 3.5" They designed the mount to use a standard rotozip tool and I will include one with it ready to go as well as my collection of collets and screws and bits etc I have for it. The unit will disassemble and all the parts are CNC made with alignment holes and pins and screw together with hex head machine screws; it is quite rigid and will easily mill aluminum with the correct tooling ... moreand feed rates. The screws that the unit was made with I believe are 10tpi with antibacklash nuts which when microstepping gives fantastic resolution(like 0.001" The CNC currently is driven by a Xylotex 4 axis control board mounted in a custom enclosure with fan and power supply and uses a parallel port connection to the PC. The stepper motors are Xylotex 2.8A/phase motors with aluminum helical flex couplers. The controller is a 4 axis controller and I have another unused matching stepper motor to use as a spare or you could add a 4th axis such as a rotary table. The current setup gives me rapid transit speeds of about 37IPM. This could be changed for your specific application by doing things like running a higher power stepper controller. Using gear reducers, changing the screws, better tuning etc. Currently I have a piece of 3/4" MDF as the table but it is possible to use a wide variety of tables including an aluminum slab and at one time I had a little custom vac table I used with a shop vac to hold down material. I like MDF because it is fairly easy to mill so that the surface is perfectly parallel with the gantry and easy on the bits should things take a turn for

The spindle had never been removed from it's box. I used this spindle for a short time to test a new larger machine I was building. The new machine was to have a 2.2KW spindle. So as soon as the larger spindle came in, this was again a spare. The spindle has only 2 to 3 hours on it. It is in excellent running condition. The spindle is 80mm(really 79mm) in diameter and 200mm in length. It weights about 9 pounds. The spindle uses standard ER11 collets. A 7 piece collet set from Shars is included. This is an inch set with sizes 1/16" 3/32" 1/8" 3/16" 7/32" 1/4" and 5/16" There is also an extra 1/8" collet and the 6mm collet that came ... morewith the spindle. There are also two extra nuts. 3-axis CNC router/plasma cutting machine - custom built
I built this as a hobby project. I wanted the machine to be able to do 3D wood. Light 3D metal, and 2D metal plasma cutting. I accomplished those goals, except I don't have a water table for the plasma cutter which could be added if someone wanted to do that. It has a cutting area of 28 x 40. I have made very nice wooden signs with it as well as some metal parts for my car and I just started playing around with the plasma cutting features. The plasma cutter is a Thermal Dynamics and has a sever cut rating of up to 3/4" in mild steel. The plasma cutter itself has only been used around 40 hours. It is very heavy and weighs about 1500 pounds or so. It has travels of about 150IPM. It is fairly accurate based on my measuring tools. If I make a circle that is 10" in diameter it will come out at 10.000 inches with about a plus or minus.004" ... moredeviation. The control electronics are CandCNC and it has Keling stepper motors and drivers. This will come with a desktop computer, keyboard, mouse and monitor with a licensed copy of MACH3 for the controller software. Remember this is a hobby machine and while you may be able to make money with it you really need to look at this as a machine that you will tinker with and learn on. If it doesn't sell during this listing then I will just part everything out but, I hate to do that since I spent so much time building this machine. It also comes with a very nice fog buster misting system for doing metal work. It requires 2 220V 30A circuits to run it. If you want to run the plasma cutter you will need to have your own air compressor. The air compressor air should be dry and free of oil for best results. PLEASE READ BELOW* I will NOT crate this or otherwise ship it via freight. I am willing to explain where to get a special trailer to move this that costs about 100 per day to rent from a local rental company. I will help with loading it up on that trailer but. These Routers are 3 phase and produce 5 HP at 22ovolts and 7.5 HP at 330 volts. they are still attached to the air cylinders that raise and lower them and were in good working condition when removed from the machine.i have not had then under power but they turn free and do not seem to have any bearing noise.
