It is a standard 3 Axis gantry style mill with 2 different set up capabilities. 3 axis milling with the table set up and 4th axis milling with 4th axis set up. The mill has a 4 tool. Automatic tool changer for both set up configurations. The pictures show the set up with 4th axis set up with wet box to run a coolant. The original design and intended use of the machine was to cut everything dry. For my needs I retrofitted the mill to run a flood coolant system to lubricate the wax I ran when cutting. Could be used to run other materials as well but for most stuff you don't really need the coolant and cutting dry is preferred. I have also added a switch box with several switches that activate when the mill starts up and shuts off ... morewhen milling is done. You can activate air flow and other auxiliary components like a pump or what ever you need. I have also added a digital timer to track milling times. The mill comes with everything in the pictures including the software that was originally came with the machine. I can even include the table it is sitting on if you want it. This mill is designed to cut a huge variety of materials such as foam. Plastics, tooling board, wood etc. The mill is not capable of milling aluminum or steel or any other types of metals. For my needs I developed a specialized process to enable me to mill toy sculpting wax of toy figures and model parts for my work in the toy industry. 4 axis CNC Tabletop Milling Machine calibrated
I used this machine for about 100 to 200 hours. Changed the timing belt pulleys for a better aluminum ones and it worked like a charm! I also calibrated it to perform to it's maximum mechanical resolution of 0.002" This little machine packs a lot of punch! Has one brand new stepper motor, the others are working great! I also changed the brushes in the spindle, so they are good for another 200+ hours I have used it for programs that take 11 hours with no problem. With proper use and care can last a long time. 3040 CNC Router. Great running machine. This machine has only been used about 20 hours. And I have not cut any metal with it. The working area of travel is 11.8 inches x 15.74 inches. Variable speed spindle(up to 11,000 rpm) The white residue seen on the machine is the TFE dry lube I used to protect it. I never crashed it or drilled into the work table. Works on standard(110-120 volt) electricity. CNC control box included. The buyer will need a personal computer and CAM software to use this machine. MACH3 software is recommended to drive the machine. I will not be able to supply the personal computer and software to run this because of legal and privacy reasons. The software is available from an outside supplier online. Replacement parts are often sold on ebay. This machine accepts both 1/8 and 1/4 inch router bits.
