3-axis CNC router/plasma cutting machine - custom built
I built this as a hobby project. I wanted the machine to be able to do 3D wood. Light 3D metal, and 2D metal plasma cutting. I accomplished those goals, except I don't have a water table for the plasma cutter which could be added if someone wanted to do that. It has a cutting area of 28 x 40. I have made very nice wooden signs with it as well as some metal parts for my car and I just started playing around with the plasma cutting features. The plasma cutter is a Thermal Dynamics and has a sever cut rating of up to 3/4" in mild steel. The plasma cutter itself has only been used around 40 hours. It is very heavy and weighs about 1500 pounds or so. It has travels of about 150IPM. It is fairly accurate based on my measuring tools. If I make a circle that is 10" in diameter it will come out at 10.000 inches with about a plus or minus.004" ... moredeviation. The control electronics are CandCNC and it has Keling stepper motors and drivers. This will come with a desktop computer, keyboard, mouse and monitor with a licensed copy of MACH3 for the controller software. Remember this is a hobby machine and while you may be able to make money with it you really need to look at this as a machine that you will tinker with and learn on. If it doesn't sell during this listing then I will just part everything out but, I hate to do that since I spent so much time building this machine. It also comes with a very nice fog buster misting system for doing metal work. It requires 2 220V 30A circuits to run it. If you want to run the plasma cutter you will need to have your own air compressor. The air compressor air should be dry and free of oil for best results. PLEASE READ BELOW* I will NOT crate this or otherwise ship it via freight. I had this on a table with a Hypertherm 65. So it has the CPC port attached to the DTHC card. Everything worked when I broke down the table and boxed it up. I fired up the computer and everything worked fine. This includes a dell computer with Monitor. Mouse and keyboard(Pentium 4 2.8 with 4 gigs ram Win XP) The controller is basically the UBOB on Plus power supply all cable. Wires and software needed. The computer has MACH 3 and Sheetcam TNG installed with the licenses as well as a newer mach 3 license disc. Everything works and was taken apart just like it came off the table. It has the Torchmate Arc Voltage torch height control unit that controls the Z height or the tip distance to the surface. It has the cable carrier system. Also has the torch mate machine interface for router and the physical Z-Axis routing for the Torchmate 3. The router has an air motor with the z-axis drive shown in the photos. The drive and motor mounts to a plate with the plasma head so you can drill holes and then cut. You can also use it as a router only without the plasma cutter. Older Gecko 320x's. They are rev6. They have never been used. A friend bought them& could not get them to work so he went back to the 320's. I was rebuilding his controls& he wanted me to try them. With the help of Mr. Gecko. I was able to get the one on the right to work with the servo that had a US Digital encoder. But not even Mr Gecko could get them to work with the Heds encoders. I sent them in for evaluation which cost me $45 with shipping to be told there was no problem found. So if you need 3 servo drives& you don't have Heds encoders these will do the trick. If you have Heds encoders don't bother. These will not work even with the mod to the Heds that is supposed to make them work.

Which is what I got it for in the first place but have decided I am going to have to have a Fiber Laser machine instead. Yeah big bucks too. So why do I say this would be the perfect do it yourself frame. Well hear me out here. First this was originally a Gerber Scientific CNC router table frame and if you know anything about Gerber they only build high precision and heavy duty stuff. This table is all built with 3/16 wall tubing. Weighs over a 1000 lbs, two people can't even pick up one end I promise ... moreyou. Table is square. All tube joint welds are ground flat. As you can see in the pictures, it was nicely painted but I have had it sitting outside so it now has some minor rust stains. Another reason I want to sell it while it's still nice. This frame would make what I believe is the perfect CNC plasma cutting table. It will allow you to easily make a 5' by 10' or 5' x 9' burn table with 3' to 4' at the end open. This will allow you to cut patterns in say large rectangular tubing that wouldn't fit on your burn slates and clear the torch. Etc etc, and or this leaves the end open to set up a C or 4th axis for tube cutting various profiles or shapes etc. Also you could get scrap sections of 2. To 6 inch plate set up on saw horses etc. Replace the plasma torch with a oxy-fuel torch and burn out thick plate on those rare occasions. Then quickly go back to your standard plasma cutting table. Best of all worlds here. That is how I would set up a plasma table anyway. Last there is 400 bucks or more worth of steel here and it would take a lot more than 500 bucks worth of time and labor to build this table I guarantee you. Easy to build in your head, but f

Hello there. FOR SALE Recently I bought this Anilam control/w all 3 servos. These are not steppers. These are real servo drives. Pictured is what ya get. The guy I bought this from was a gun smith. He was a bit intimidated by the computer c ontrol. I assure you. This control is very easy to operate. I ran one a few years ago and it was silk smooth and the machine was rock solid, so the combination made for a nice machine The only thing really missing to make it run are the ball screws. The guy left them on his Bridgeport Mill. There are a ton of applications this can be used for. 3d printer? 3d router? Plasma cutter? The possibilities are endless. There may be a way to set it up for ACME type screws. That would be a question for the original manufacture I bought it figuring I would jump right into a motion control project.
