Up for auction is a 9ft 8 weight 2 piece vintage Winston fly rod with the original tube and rod sock. This is a slow action Winston 8wt. This rod is in excellent condition with only minor soiling on the cork grip due to use. I glanced over this rod and could only find few surface scratches on the blank. Considering the age of the rod it is in great condition and appears to have been fished very little. The ferrules still fit tight and it casts a Cortland 444 8wt WF Tropics Plus line perfectly. This rod will make a great salmon/steelhead rod. This is a St Croix sc III rod my brother in law got me in 2003 for my birthday. I went fishing with it about 7 or 8 times for Salmon and Steelhead in Michigan. I did not become interested in fly fishing as it was to challenging for me. Now it sits in my storage room for the last 12 years without use. I don't know how good the line on it is it may have to be replaced the reel is a G LOOMIS Adventure 7 and it is very smooth. The cap on the butt of the rod came off and the cork is a little chipped as you can see in the picture the reel has some scratches but are hard to see in the pictures, I will ship the rod in a plastic tube so it cannot be damaged, Rod and reel are sold together as is with no returns.
