Used but very good condition Scott Tactical Series 9 ft. 5 weight, 4 piece, fast action rod. Scott's internal ferrule creates a very smooth and light weight(3 oz) rod that throws dry flies effortlessly. But this rod also has tremendous reserve power when needed for nymphs, streamers, sinking line, it does it all. This is an early model. S/n 93651, and shows signs of wear on the reel seat and insert(see photos) As with all my equipment, I take great care of my stuff. Ferrules, blank and cork are in great shape. XST stands for Extreme Saltwater Taper. Quoting from Cabela's, the Generation III high-modulus graphite and super-fast actions make it easy to form tight loops that slice through the strongest winds. The powerful butt sections subdue the largest fish in a short amount of time. The rod is used. With a fair amount of scuffs and scratches, but nothing that would compromise the rod integrity. Scott G 904 Fly Rod - 9 ft. 4 wt. 2 pc.
Harry Murray. Of Murray's Fly Shop in Edinburgh, VA calls the Scott G 904(9 foot 4 weight) the tailwater and spring creek fly rod to which all others are compared. This rod is the epitome of that description. A cult classic paralleling the Sage 389LL in it's following. Slow, silky, fine-tippet-protecting-action necessary to fool todays overfished trout. This rod is also one of a very few made at the Scott factory in this configuration. If you know the Scott G series, you are aware that the early models were built with Scott's signature"epoxy topped" grip, in a half wells shape. What you may not be aware of is that a"superfine, over wrapped" grip, as depicted in my photos, was available as a factory upgrade, I'm told approximately $50 at the time. The other unique accoutrement of this rod is the down locking ... moreslide band with teakwood spacer reel seat. Another upgrade. When I sent a note to Scott after finding this rod, they said"what a find! They also verified it's authenticity for me. This rod will make a fine addition to a classic fly rod collection, Scott collector, or for the light line, fine tippet tailwater and/or spring creek fisherman who wants a rod with an action and feel impossible to find today. There hasn't been much fishing time put on this rod, the ferrule gap is at factory spec, it's straight as any Scott I've seen, and the guides are tight with absolutely no deterioration of the wraps. Additionally, the red agate inserts on the stripping guides, a Scott signature feature, are intact. Original tube and sack. This rod needs a home with someone who appreciates just how rare. This rod comes to you on sad wings. My cousin died suddenly a few weeks ago. He was single. With no children, and had no life insurance. It fell on his parents to pay the funeral bills. I am liquidating his gear to help defray those expenses on behalf of his parents. This rod is a Winston BIIIx. One of the premeir rods that Winston has ever produced. It is a 4 piece, 9 foot model, rated for 6 weight line. The rod is labeled as wieghing only 2 3/4 ounces! It looks as if a reel has never been mounted on it. Everything about this rod screams"new" But I have no proof of it was never used, so I am listing it as"used" The one mark on it is baffling. A circular black dot on the reel seat. See Pictures) I have no idea what the dot represents, perhaps some identification code he used. In any case I tried to wipe it off with rubbing ... morealcohol, but whatever ink he used refuses to be removed. The dot is on the seat where the reel foot will go, so it will be covered by the reel foot. We could find no tube or sock with this rod, but he did have some other tubes and socks that were empty, so I will provide a tube and sock for shipping purposes. I can make no other claims about this rod as I know nothing about it. Look at my feedback. I am a very honest person who values their reputation. Sage SLT 590-4 Fly Rod 9 ft. 5 wt. 4 pc Beautiful Condition RIO Gold Line
This rod is a warranty replacement and has been fished only twice since it was sent back from them. In amazing condition. Blank is in like new condition and there are no marks on the reel seat hardware. As you can see the ferrules are in great condition as well. As I always wax them before putting the pieces together. The cork has little darkening and no damage. Tube has some marks from storage, but is without any dents. Comes with original rod sock as well. While this rod has been registered, SAGE is the easiest company to work with there is and will repair or replace a rod without issue. Please examine the photos and bid confidently. The TiCrX series rods are fast action sticks with reserve power for distance casting. This is the LT or light version of the TiCrX 6 weight. It uses the same blank as the standard model. But saves a full ounce of weight by employing 2 stripper guides, instead of the 3 in the standard model, as well as using a lighter, graphite insert reel seat and omitting the extension butt. This rod looks barely used. And is in near new condition. The bottom male ferrule has scratches, but otherwise the blank has no scratches, scuffs, nicks, etc. The grip shows only faint soiling.
