He thought it looked like new. He gave it a thorough cleaning and replaced the cap tops. The VP-300 is a 4 head printer. One head per color(CMYK) The SP-300 is a 2 head printer, 2 colors per head. Greetings fellow ebayers. Up for auction here is one. Roland SP300 Printer/Cutter. It accepts 30" media for printing and cutting. I am the 2nd owner of this printer. I bought it the first of this year and replaced one printhead, the ink lines, all dampers and cap tops. As you can see from the nozzle test picture, the head I replaced(magenta and yellow) prints perfectly, the other one not so much. The cyan/black head looks bad, but it still prints OK when I set it on quality mode and slow the carriage down 2 clicks. I just printed the picture of the nurse. You can buy a new, solvent printhead here on ebay for about $700. I bought this printer because I could not get the printed I had before to print good skin tones. This one does a great job of printing skin tones. But, now I need a printer that is slightly larger. So, instead of buying ... morea new printhead for this printer, I want to put that cash into buying a slightly larger printer. A new Roland SP-300i will cost you about $14,000. For about one third of that you can be in business with this one. The software that came with this printer is ColoRip 2.1. It works perfectly. What you see on the screen is what comes out of the printer. But it is only a Rip& Print program. You need a design program to get your design ready to be ripped and printed. I will incluse working copies of Roland VersaWorks and FlexiSign Pro 8.1. In order to use VersaWorks with this printer you have to change it into a SP300V. I will supply the instructions for this change. All you have to do is change one number in the setup menu and flip one dipswitch on the main board. One great thing about this printer is that you can design and print directly from CorelDraw. No other software is needed. I tried it and it works perfectly. Images are crisp and the cut is perfect. This machine was used daily in our shop and has made back our money 10 times over. We did maintenance weekly, and had it serviced twice a year. I recently purchased this printer and immediately had a Roland Technician come and service it just 2 weeks ago. He installed a brand new Head. Brand New Dampers(newer roland design/style) Brand new Caps(Newer Roland Design/style) a Brand New Pump, and all new lines in the printer. It comes with the stand and cords. Roland SC-545EX SolJet ProII. This is an estate item. My mother purchased this new. 2006? and used it for printing her artwork. Currently I cannot confirm the status of the print head output. I know that it is powered on. I did do a test print and only two of the heads produced ink. A good cleaning should let us know more. However I recently(yesterday) had back surgery and really not in shape to really go through it. I've replaced two of the print heads in the past, but that was about 3 years ago. I have a tech manual that I printed out as well. I expect if you are looking at this you know more about the technical aspects than I do. I can repair these. But operations past simple printing I cannot do. This will have to be a local pickup and you will need to bring strong people as I will not be able to assist. We bought this printer in November 2007 and used it till we quit our sign business in 2010. Since then it has been used occasionally to do 18wheeler truck doors and small signs for friends. It was working great the last time I used it. But it has sat for several months and the ink has dried in the cap tops.
