This is a Mutoh manufactured machine. Xerox sells the identical Mutoh-manufactured printers as does Oce. The same printers are sold by Mutoh itself as the Mutoh Rockhopper 3 Extreme(with eco-solvent ink) and the Mutoh Spitfire Extreme(with mild-solvent ink) You can change the ink type yourself by looking at these instructions. We purchased the machine from auction in 2010 and never used it. When getting it shipped from California to Florida the shipping company removed the inks from the machine and the leftover ink in the lines dripped out from the bottom of the machine. I cleaned it up as much as possible. It does not affect the performance of the machine. I installed 4 new DX4 printheads. New dampers, new and new head caps. The machines firmware was put back to the Mutoh version firmware so you can use OEM Mutoh inks or 3rd party Mutoh ... moreinks. I installed the new print heads because I let it sit too long. The machine is ready to go just needs ripping software(mutoh) and inks. The printer still works and prints it just shows black nozzles missing during the nozzle check. The diagnosis was that it needs a new print head to cure the black nozzle issue. Used Mutoh 46 Inch Large Format Printer. I have it for the last 2 years in my print and graphic business. Cosmetically its in excellent condition. I bought a 64 inch Seiko about six months ago and did not use Mutoh since then. Although I cleaned the lines and the heads before removing this but some ink may have clogged in the system. So it may needs thorough head cleaning with Eco-Solvent Head cleaner or New Heads. This is a real workhorse. Does not require expensive maintenance. Mimaki JV3-160 SP 63" Wide Format Solvent Printer NEEDS HEADS not roland mutoh
This printer is being sold as is and is also for sale locally. I will part out or consider trades for name brand vinyl cutters. This unit was working before the previous owner bought a new printer and left this one unplugged. It will need new heads or someone who can possibly recover these heads. The printer turns on. Both pumps cycle, it reads media, the heaters work, etc. etc. I believe everything else to be in working order. It comes with take up reel. 2011 Mutoh Value Jet 54" Digital Printer With Auto Take Up Reel
This printer was purchased in September of 2011 for our small sign company. The warranty was the standard two year. It has been a great printer for us but we are upgrading to a leased 1324 with a four year service contract because in four years we are hoping to sell and retire! It is inevitable that any printer will eventually need some service but if one is located in a major city the repair is never as costly. With us located in Whitney the service call is awful as we saw when we needed service on our first printer bought very used- a falcon II outdoor! The Mutoh folks educated me to know that eventually the pump may need replacing which is a $250 part plus the service call. Past that these printers go and go as long as they are maintained properly. I have cleaned and maintained this printer religiously and it is in excellent shape.
