I didn't bother replacing these knobs. As I rarely needed to set the attenuation to such a fine level. The main frequency setting knobs have been replaced with ones that are more robust then the original HP knobs(which tend to crack down the stress concentration in the groves and then the plastic part falls off) The frequency counter and cables are not included, but the counter is available in another of my auctions. It is missing it's wire catches along the frame and is parallel interface only; no USB. There are cartridges installed but I believe they are mostly empty save the black which reads as full. The cartridges and ink nozzles/ print heads condition is not known nor is the total page count. We tried using a different roll of paper than that specified and could not get it to print anything. There is a network card installed but it is not tested either. You will need to buy 24" x 36" Sheet Plot Paper. OR you can buy a Roll of 24" wide Paper and cut it yourself to 36"s Long. That’s what I did for years. Included with the Plotter are the Manuals all Printed out in a Binder. And Also the Manuals On CD. Included also is a Whole Box of New/Used Pens. All in Different Colors and sizes. It is wide format and printers up to 36 inches wide. Pictures 8 and 9 are of the printing it was doing when it was put into storage. Picture 10 is of the print out it did today when I plugged it in and it tried to align the cartridges. I would say the print head will need a good cleaning or replacing. The screen works and the printer head moves freely without any problems. It does come with stand and 5 of the wire racks that catch large print outs. This is large and heavy to ship. Vintage? 7580B Hewlett Packard HP Wide Format Pen Plotter Blueprint etc. Maker
HP 7580b plotter that I was trying to turn into a vinyl cutter a while back. I couldn't figure out how to get the software to run it. So I bought an actual cutter. The plotter still works. Or at least did, I did a confidence test with it a few times and all was fine, except the pens are about out of ink(maybe all the way out of ink by now) Someone wrote that you can refill them using India ink, but I'm not sure if that is only black. Also. One of the caster wheels is missing, so it sits a little uneven unless propped up under that foot(you could maybe replace the wheels for a couple $) I have a replacement, but it is a bit smaller than the originals. I bought a special cable(I think because of the age of this machine. You need a special cable to connect it to modern PCs) for it that you can have if I still have it. There's a cable ... moreconnected to it now, but not sure if that was the stock cable or the'special' one I bought. This printer was working great up to about a week ago. The magenta printhead has gone bad and has air in the Ink System. The tube end to the magenta ink is broken off. It will need a new ink system which runs about $250. I am upgrading to a different printing system and am not willing to put the money into this one. Hewlett Packard HP Designjet 800PS - 24" Plotter/Printer
We recently upgraded our plotter and are looking to sell our HP Designjet 800PS- 24" printer/plotter. Plotter has seen much use but has been well maintained. Still runs great and provides decent quality plotter printing for an older machine. This would come with a full set of new unopened ink cartridges. As well as the ink remaining in the plotter. The cartridges do not work with our new upgraded plotter. The cartridges alone make this a good deal for someone that doesn't necessarily need a high production or expensive plotter. HP has long discontinued producing this plotter and has now discontinued producing replacement parts. After market parts are available I am told. But didn't look into it. If you have an HP Designjet this may be a good way to salvage parts. Willing to ship within if we can negotiate shipping costs. Couldn't ... moreselect an appropriate shipping method due to this being an oversized item.
