This wonderfully made vintage jewelry box made to look like a antique slant top desk has five storage areas. For a 1970's era item made in Japan the quality is that of a real piece of furniture. The slant top portion opens up to a roomy area for sizable items. The next draw longer then the next three draws concealed behind two paneled doors. The storage areas are lined with a gold velvet like material true to that vintage time period, The size about 14" inches tall by 9" inches across the front with a depth of 5"inches. This is a great vintage Sears. Roebuck and Co solid wood fold-top sewing desk in very good condition. The desk is very solid and sturdy and has beautiful detail all over, including a lovely Greek Key pattern around the edge in raised wood. It is a great compact size, but opens up substantially when you flip open the"wings" doubling the work space. The sewing machine is no longer included but the opening is still there. You could either put in your own sewing machine or cover it with glass. It is very versatile and would work great in a small space. One of the drawers still has pins for storing spools and bobbins and a small pin cushion. The desk is 31" high. When closed the desk is 32"x19" and when open. It expands to 64" wide. It measures right at 12" tall X 10 1/2" wide X 12 1/4" deep. And is made of a light colored wood. The open top measures inside 11 1/2" X 9 1/2" And each drawer is right at 11" X 8 3/4" inside. The trays slide in and out on wood runners on each side of the drawers and operate smoothly. It does need a little cleaning.
