Next up for auction is an Original Tiffany Studios Etched Metal and Glass Letter Rack in the Grapevine Pattern. This very useful desk item is in very good to excellent condition. It has a wonderful brown/reddish patina finish with only slight handling wear. Please see photos. Photo# 6 shows this minor wear. The green stirated slag glass is perfect, no cracks nor chips. The grapevine metal work as well as the beading around the letter rack are wonderful examples of Tiffany`s workmanship and also in grat condition. Beautiful Art Nouveau Curved Desk Lamp c1910 This lamp is fantastic Art Nouveau lamp dating back to the early part of the 20th century. The base is made of metal& it is a great size and has a lovely curved shape. The base is decorated with curves and natural shapes that is typical of Art Nouveau design. The lamp comes complete with an original peach glass shade which creates a lovely warm glow when the lamp is lit. The lamp has a good weight to it and is a nice quality piece. It is in great condition but has been sprayed with silver paint at some point. In our opinion the lamp would look much better if this was stripped away bac to its base colour. Rare form carved quartered oak barrister bookcase with desk leaded glass-14489
This is a great carved quartered oak barrister bookcase. Sometimes called a lawyers bookcase or stacking bookcase. This outstanding stacking desk bookcase is one of the nicest we have ever seen. It has leaded glass windows in the top two sections below the molded top. The carved fall board has a key that opens or locks the desk section. Inside are two strong desk lid supports and a nice set of pigeon holes with a single pencil drawer-fitted interior. The desk section sits above two full width drawers. The top drawer is shaped to fit the curve. The second drawer is carved to accent the fall board. Both drawers have original brass handles. The lowest section is an extra tall one with a"blind" door or wood paneled door to prevent breakage from feet. The entire piece sits on a molded base section. Quartersawn oak is showcased through ... morethe entire piece which is in excellent condition. I believe this case was made by the Viking Company. Overall dimensions are 34 wide, 15 deep, and 69 high. Although we have sold hundreds of interesting barrister bookcases over the years, we have never seen this model before. 1950's GLASS Replogle Light Up Desk Globe 12" With Atlas
Date of Atlas is 1954. No date listed on globe. But I would imagine it is the same date. 17 1/2" tall in total Base is 11" X 7 1/2" There are a few areas that rubbed away because the globe needs to be adjusted to the base correctly. It was rubbing in one area when turned and rubbed the paint off. No known chips in glass. The bookcase is crowned with dental style molded trim and there are 2 glass front doors with wood knobs. The back of the bookcase is paneled and the boards have separated in a couple of spots. The roll top goes up and down easily and the wood is in great condition with no breaks or splits. There are 10 cubbies ... moreunder the roll top for storage and a nice size writing area. Tall Antique Victorian Oak Cylinder Desk Carved Secretary Glass Front Shelves
Fantastic Victorian era cylinder top desk. Made from oak with pine secondary woods. Panelled back and sides. The large upper cabinet has flexible. Movable shelves and period glass doors. It rests atop a cylinder or roll top desk area with a small drawer and several pigeon holes. The writing surface is covered in black felt and pulls out to provide a larger area. There is a large overhanging drawer as well as two smaller drawers and a cabinet below, for even more storage. All of the drawers have brass pulls and escutcheons and dovetail joints. The lower area is spoon carved in a charming leaf pattern. This piece most likely dates from the late 1800's. This piece is in good condition. But does have some cosmetic flaws, as is to be expected in a piece of this age. Several of the escutcheons are missing as well as the door pulls on the upper ... morecabinet. The drawer pulls are loose as well and one of the escutcheons looks like it has been reattached. There is a piece of wood missing from the molding below the desk top as well. See picture) There is also significant wear to the felted writing surface. No other significant damage or repairs. The entire desk stands about 88" 7'4" tall. I am not sure of the purchase price. The age, or the wood type. The stain is a chestnut color. The desk are two parts. The approximate dimensions of the lower secretary desk part are 36 inches tall, 34.5 inches wide, 19 inches deep. The approximate dimensions of the upper bookshelf part are 33 inches tall. 32 inches wide at the bottom(where it rest on the secretary desk) and 36.5 inches tall(from the top moulding trim) 11.5 inches deep. The drawers have dovetail construction and all four drawers open and close fully. The handles. Hinges, and hardware appear to be brass(not positive of the material) One of the eight handles came out of the hinge socket. I have the handle ... moreloose so it can be reattached and repaired. The bookshelf unit has a glass front. The glass is in good shape with some sticker residue which needs to be cleaned. The very top of the bookshelf has a circular mark which appears to be where the previous owner(s) kept a plant. On the fold down writing desk there is a small chip in the wood on the left hand corner. There are four holes on top of the secretary desk where the bookcase is attached also there are scratches and wear from the bookcase rests(these are not visible when the desk is attached) The back has rough unfinished wood showing. Up for auction is a beautiful and rare Art Deco Period glass wind up clock. Company: Chrystal Vue Clock Company. Origin: USA Circa: 1930s Dimensions: 5"H and 5"W. Description: The thick glass case/face(about 1/2" thick) is in perfect condition. There are no chips. Scrapes, scratches, etc. The mirrored paint is in great condition as well. There are some minor scrapes of paint and just normal wear/aging for a clock this old. The"skyscraper" hands are original to the clock. The nickle plated back of the clock is in outstanding condition. Its very clean and very shiny with minimal wear/scratches. The clock may need repair work to be operational. The glass feels heavy and is thick. It measures 7 1/2" long x 5 3/4" wide at the base. It is 1 5/8" tall at the tallest part. There are a few hairline cracks but the glass is still intact. There is a chip on the front left side near the base. There are also a few other tiny chips. Scratches and scuffs on the glass and it looks like it could use a good cleaning. I do not see any manufacturer's name on this piece. Most of my items come from local Estate Sales. Auctions, Flea Markets ... moreand Yard Sales and are in used, pre-owned vintage condition and usually show evidence of wear and age such as light scratches, scuffs, surface rust and dents/dings consistent with it's age and use. Great old brass slag glass adjustable arm lamp. Amazing Arts and Crafts Mission design. Marked on the socket"Hubbell Pat. It has a date that I can't read. The little ball screw on the top unscrews and the arm slides in and out. The lamp is 12 inches tall and the base is 6 inches square. The total length on the arm is16 inches. The light drops down 8 inches and the slag glass shade is 5 1/2 inches by 5 inches across the bottom. It has the original paddle switch and cloth cord. It works as you can see in the pictures. The decorative metal trim around the bottom of the shade has become bent a little but is still secure. The lamp still retains its original patina. I didn't clean it. This gorgeous Tiffany style banquet lamp is large. Very unique and absolutely stunning. Height = 33" Width of base = 9" height of shade = 11" width of shade = 19.5" This rare lamp is in great vintage condition and is absolutely gorgeous. The shade and base are made of copper foiled stained glass and cast metal. I couldn't find any chips or cracks on the glass. There is a small spot on the shade where the finish seems to be scratched off on the grout between the glass(documented in pictures) The electrical and cord work perfectly. No reserve! Up to auction is this an antique arts&crafts era bronze desk/table lamp made by Tiffany Studios. New York,circa 1910,s. This is called a"Harp" desk/table lamp and it is done in Tiffany Studios most sought after brown-chocolate patina. This base uses an Art Glass Old Original to Tiffany Studios,Steuben or Quezal,but UNSIGNED! Damascene style iridescent art glass shade. The Harp Lamp Base stands 13 1/4" tall and the Harp is 9" wide. The foot has a diameter of 5 3/4" The shade has 4 3/4" tall and is 5 3/4" in diameter. This Harp Desk/Table lamp displays wonderful and rich brown-chocolate patina. This is the most desirable finish in the Tiffany Patina's. It has a very nice Round Ribbed Foot with a tall column that rises up to a Harp. The foot of the base has 5 feet that are mounted directly ... moreto the bottom. The balls of the feet are hollowed out to receive the mounting screws. The top of the harp has a Bell Fitter Cup with a 2 1/4" Fitter for lamp shade. The shade has a Green-Blue Iridescence horizontal Wave pattern that surrounds the entire shade with spiral green-blue lines running down at an angle overlapping these waves. The base is quite heavy and is loaded with lead on the inside to give the base its added stability. This Tiffany Harp Lamp Base is considered to be in very good to excellent condition. The Bakelite Ring that holds the socket from touching the casing walls is original. This has been tested and will not cause a short. The Bell Fitter has all of its original screws including the 3 thumb screws. This Base is signed on the bottom with the impressed mark"Tiffany Studios New York" along with the base number"21148"and logo/stamp. There are 2 versions of th is base. A short one and a Tall one. The sh ort one has its harp mounted directly to the Ribbed bottom. Th is version is the taller one with the column. Th e collectors real ly like th is smaller version. The stock market up, and consumer confidence up as well, i thought i would list some of my better lamps that i have been holding on to for the past couple of years. this is one of them. i will be auctioning off some much better than average lighting this time around so please check out my other lighting auctions as well. that said. I have this fantastic handel desk lamp. this is a seldom seen and high quality lamp folks and not a reproduction in any way shape or form. its period 1905-1920. the shade signed, the base with original felt bottom but the handel tag is no longer. this is a well documented base so there should not be any worries there either. the shade signed on the top rim where it should be and measuring seven inches wide and four inches tall. the shade with wonderful chocolate brown patina throughout ... morethe leading and there are no loose pieces of glass to be seen as all the leading is tight and right. the coloration is very nice and you will be very hard pressed to find a better arts and crafts style desk/piano lamp anywhere especially by handel. this shade is about as good as it gets. now onto the base. same beautiful chocolate brown patina throughout and in fine working order. there is no metal fatique nor breaks anywhere and its been recently rewired with proper period style cloth cord. the base needs no excuses at all similar to the shade. it meausres 12 and 1/2 inches tall at its highest point and of course is completely adjustable. this is how you want to find antique lamps folks in this condition. i am selling this lamp at no reserve as i do with all my auctions and of course there is no buyers 15-25% premium like all the auction houses are charging today so you are already ahead of the game in that respect. thanks for looking and please check out my other ebay lighting auctions as i have some great lighting up for sale. thanks again. bidders please remember that i am selling antiques and that there should be a degree of expectation on your part in knowing that
