Like anything that is over 70-80 years old. It has some ... morenicks, scratches and such. However on the whole it is in really nice shape as well as being very clean. The stool has some rust spots where the paint has warn away over time on it as are visible in the pictures. But nothing out of the ordinary for its age. It has been well cared for, but has that desired aged look where you can tell it has been around. The sticker fell off it at some point. I took a picture of the spot before wiping it off so you can see it was a real Toledo stool. If you have ever seen the sticker between the 2 rivets you can see the outline there to know that it was once on there many years ago. It will make a great addition to someone who is looking for a vintage piece like this that can appreciate its"character" and imperfections. While being proud to have a clean functional example of a timeless drafting stool. As far as shipping. In the past what I have done is take the back riser part off as it is easily removable, so that I can properly box the stool to be able to ship it anywhere in the continental U.S for a reasonable price. The buyer will have to put the back riser back on, but it is only held on by 4 bolts and is easily done. Trying to ship it any other way is far too costly and just not practical given the size. Vintage. Hard to find, Industrial Eames Era, Industrial original BEVCO stool in good condition but used condition.Has the nice wood saddle seat and contoured back rest. Both seat and backrest are adjustable. Has original BEVCO tag on back rest and shows normal wear from use. Everything works as suppose too.There were a couple pieces of duct tape on back rest and I removed them which shows a little residue left but will come off. Vintage Heavy& Sturdy Steel Stool The metal on this great stool ha s a lovely aged patina. It is olive green with some rust. And one leg has a splash of some brighter green. The seat is newer, and it is black with some wear on the edges which reveals a beige undercoat. This is an extremely sturdy stool- the steel is quite heavy with the piece weighing about 17 pounds. The stool is technically adjustable. Although I am not selling it as such because once the top is raised, the leg parts do not align to be able to reattach the bolts and nuts. Vintage industrial/ machine stool/ chair. this has a textured brown vinyl and is a doctor's office stool I believe. it's old(no plastic base) It has chrome legs which are worn with oxidation and scratches. A little dusty/ dirty from storage and will need a good cleaning. vinyl cover on seat is in good condition. It has no tears but does have some slight indention marks from stuff being put on top of it(might come out over time) Made by Midmark. On 5 rollers that work well. This Antique office drafting chair is one I know the full history of. It came from Cottrell's Printing Press Manufacturers in Pawcatuck, Ct. Made by Toledo Metal Furniture Co. UHL Steel USA, it's age is est. 1930-1940. I purchased this chair in 1969 when Cottrell's was upgrading furniture they sold these to employees. The chair, stool is very comfortable as people sat in them for 8 hrs or more a day. When I bought the chair it was close to 35 years old and I have had it for 44 yrs. This was built for an industrial machine shop setting, it is fully adjustable from 28" low setting to 32 1/2" high setting as well as the back rest being adjustable, it swivels has a curved seat made of walnut veneer 16" x 14" the back is 6" x 13" also in walnut veneer. A comfortable foot rest at 12 1/2" high is made ... moreof metal. The entire base is metal with a bit of surface rust on it, otherwise the chair is in excellent condition for it's age. Designed in 1964 by Robert Probst. Part of the George Nelson design team at Herman Miller Co. commonly called the"Perch" chair to symbolize the seating style. Upper portion can be used a back rest or arm rest.This is an earlier model, perhaps from the 1980s due to the"4 star" base, newer ones have 5, but it looks to be in nearly showroom condition as if gently used. There are two 1/2 inch lighter area on the purple seat fabric, barely noticeable, and slight scratches on the painted aluminum pedestal. No visible wear to fabric, no tears or damage to it nor to the polished aluminum and chrome steel structure. It swivels and seat height is adjustable from 31 inches at the lowest to 35 inches at the highest. Foot rest appears to also be adjustable with an allen bolt but it has not been moved. Vintage Toledo UHL Gray Industrial Drafting Stool Chair Antique - Must See!
Up for sale is a beautiful vintage original Toledo UHL drafting stool in very good condition. Like anything that is over 70-80 years old. It has some nicks, scratches and such. However on the whole it is in really nice shape as well as being very clean. The stool has some rust spots where the paint has warn away over time on it as are visible in the pictures. But nothing out of the ordinary for its age. It has been well cared for, but has that desired aged look where you can tell it has been around. The sticker fell off it at some point. I took a picture of the spot before wiping it off so you can see it was a real Toledo stool. If you have ever seen the sticker between the 2 rivets you can see the outline there to know that it was once on there many years ago. It will make a great addition to someone who is looking for a vintage piece like ... morethis that can appreciate its"character" and imperfections. While being proud to have a clean functional example of a timeless drafting stool. As far as shipping. In the past what I have done is take the back riser part off as it is easily removable, so that I can properly box the stool to be able to ship it anywhere in the continental U.S for a reasonable price. The buyer will have to put the back riser back on, but it is only held on by 4 bolts and is easily done. Trying to ship it any other way is far too costly and just not practical given the size. It is in very good vintage condition with the original green finish which shows wear commensurate with age. This chair has the K.B. Elliott label but is made by the Toledo Metal Furniture company. It is upholstered in black vinyl and has a gorgeous chrome base. The entire stool has been cleaned and detailed from top to bottom. And the chrome gleams from a fresh polishing. The backrest has a few light scratches and one nicked upper corner on the back(see photos) The only other flaw is with the chrome adjustment collar. Which, while fully functional, has an uneven edge. Vintage Industrial Steel Draftsmans Stool Manufactured by the Cramer Co.Inc. Kansas City. Missouri- The Cramer Co. developed the"Air Flow Posture Chair" back in 1934. They were leaders in the office furniture market. Designing chairs to support the posture and comfort of every seated worker. During World War ll. Cramer designed crew chairs for heavy bombers and gunner chairs for Navy Battleships. In 1948 Cramer aluminum chairs were even accepted as the standard for the United Nations Headquarters in New York City. They did much to introduce and incorporate ergonomics into office seating. The frame is constructed of welded steel tubing The seat base and its adjusting mechanism are cast aluminum The stool sits on four hard rubber. The vertical adjustment mechanism gives the stool a bold mechanical aesthetic The seat and backrest are foam padded and covered with green leather. The back cover is original. The seat cover has been replaced with a registered seat cover from the CRAMER company and is tagged with the part number. Although it doesn't fit as snug as it did originally. It stays on just fine but as you can see in the photos the padding shows around the edge when you look at it from the bottom. This Draftsmans Stool is in overall great vintage condition. The base is the original silver color and has all the wear expected and desired in a stool that has been in service for at least 50 yrs. This chair is in good condition. And functions properly. The only noticeable issue worth mentioning is that there is a small chip of wood missing on the front lower right side of the seat back. You are bidding on one chair. The one that is shown in the pictures. It is a genuine Toledo UHL chair. Not a reproduction. My'model code' for this chair is LR. Vintage Industrial Toledo Uhl Stool Machine Chair drafting mid Century steampunk
I have lots of Mid Century and industrial stuff listed and more on the way including more UHL stools. This is a nice old one it does work the back pivots as well as adjusts up and down from 39 3/4 down to 29 inches. The seat adjusts also from 25 3/4 to 17 3/4. It has normal wear but the wood seat and back could be refinished if you wanted to but it has lots of character.
