VERY NICE OLD WORKING GERMAN KEY WIND WOOD CASE TAMBOR DESK CLOCK!
We have a large number of vintage and antique clocks currently listed along with a fascinating variety of music boxes and other very nice vintage/antique collectibles. Be sure to have a look at our other items! This is a wonderful find of a working. Mechanical clock that is designed to look just like a full size wooden tambor clock but much smaller and easier to manage. The clock was created about 45 years ago in what was then, West Germany" by"Mercedes. The case is made entirely of wood, very well made, has a deep walnut finish, and has beautiful art deco swept features; very attractive! The clock dial has a brass bezel surrounding it with a glass crystal inset into it; no cracks or chips that I can see. The dial has a white outer chapter ring and a beautiful goldtone design in the center and on the outer edge. The hours are marked ... morewith a fancy white backdrop on each with black, easy to read Roman numerals at each. The clock hands are very fancy, black, and matching. The back of the clock movement is brass metal and all hardware is intact including the winding key and time setting knob. There is even a slow/fast adjustment there in case the clock timing ever needs to be sped up or slowed down. The clock has a mechanical movement that keeps very good time and lasts for about two days on a single wind. We don't know the service history but we do know that if you service a vintage or antique clock like this one at least once every three years, it will last beyond a lifetime. I've looked the clock over fairly well and only find a few minor nicks here and there and mostly on the back; hard to see but they are there and not detracting.I doubt if anything could. It is a very impressive clock and the ideal size too measuring about 4 3/4” at its highest point, about 3" at its deepest, and about 8 1/2” wide. This clock is an outstanding example of German quality and is certain to capture the imagination of any guests in your home, office, or wherever it is that you care to showcase a remarkably rare

Old Dollhouse Miniature Furniture - Wood Governor Winthrop Desk - Needs Some TLC
We recently came across a box of old dollhouse miniatures and furniture. This is not our area of expertise so we are listing each piece as an auction with a $9.99 starting bid. All we can tell you about age is that the former owner said it came from the 50's and earlier with pieces coming from her mother and grandmother. This listing is for a Governor Winthrop desk. It is 6 7/8" tall and 3.5" across. It has four long drawers and two small drawers. It has a flip down desk top with support pieces that pull out. The two cabinets at the top open and there are two shelves inside. The glass in the doors is real glass not plastic or plexiglass. It has a pediment on top. There is a packet of letters in one drawer and some loose paper. It is need of some TLC. There are two chips to the wood. One is on the pediment and one is on the front ... moreof a foot. Both are visible in our photos. The pull down desk top will not remain closed(it flops back open) The cloth on it is quite faded. COLLECTIBLE VINTAGE WOOD DOLL HOUSE FURNITURE Desk, circa 1930's
This desk is a part of a set of vintage Doll House Furniture which was first owned(and played with) by my mother in the 1930's. She passed them on to me and I did NOT pass them on to my children or grandchildren. The pieces have spent most of their lives wrapped in tissue paper. In a shoe-box under a bed! There are no major scratches. Cracks or blemishes; no breakage, and always lived in a smoke-free environment. This desk is fashioned after the Governor Winthrop style. Lovely detailing with curved drawers which can all be removed; inkwells can come out. And it has 5 cubbies above the ink wells. When drop-front is opened, it squeaks! I have been told that it was probably made in Germany, but there are no identifying marks. I can remember removing the actual price tags from the furniture when I was young. Wood Desk, Maple (?) early 1950's PICKUP ONLY
PLEASE NOTE: ITEM IS LOCATED IN MASSACHUSETTS. FOR PICKUP ONLY! Up for auction is wood desk probably from the late 1940's or early 1950's, I believe it is maple. It originally came from my grandparents house. The desk is 30" high x 22" deep x 42.25" wide and the knee well is 18" wide x 23" high. There are 4 drawers on the left and 3 on the right(bottom 2 are actually one deep drawer for files) There is one center drawer. All drawers are intact, no repairs needed and slide nicely although some beeswax on the slides would be helpful. You can see all the drawers are dovetail joints. Overall the desk is in good condition structurally, there is a straight crack along the back of the desk top, appears to be a separation of the boards, not a cracked board, should be a relatively easy fix. The big issue is the finish, ... morewhether stripped down and restained or sanded and painted, this would make a nice desk. Any questions, please ask. Antique Vintage Child's Wood School Desk Bench Chair - very nice condition!
This very nice late1800s school desk will look great anywhere in your home. The bench seats folds up. The desktop has a hole for inkwell and a groove for pencils. Very nice ornate wrought iron legs add to the beauty. Inscribed on the leg are the patent dates from 1881. 1890, and 1891. Sorry for the poor quality of the photos but the words are much clearer than these pictures show. There are many uses for these school desks as a decoration or actual use in your house. I have seen some used as very nice plant stands. This desk is in great shape for it's age with some minor scratches and aging. There is a small indentation on the top of this desk(see picture 6) The desk looks to be in original condition without having any restoration done- which adds to the beauty be retaining the patina of the wood. 1950's Russel Wright CONANT BALL mid-century Modern Mates LARGE blonde wood Desk
12 pictures in all! This is the full sized drawer version(there's a slightly smaller version that was made also and looks nearly identical) I could find nothing really majorly wrong with this. no other chips or gouges.no broken or glued anything. My description reads a little harsh. Think this would clean up nicely. I did notice at the bottom on one side there is a very very slight 2" long microline separation of the boards that were glued together to look like one sold piece of wood or side.at the very bottom(PHOTO#2. which probably barely shows if at all in the photo. The drawers all look and work great. the top drawer is the cleanest. the other two have a bit of gunk in them and look how nice the thin top drawer above the seating area is.just a small spot of ink.you'd think there would be pencil and pen marks all over it. ... moreFor some reason THIS desk has a faux wood formica top over the solid maple top. not sure if it was sold that way or added later. It would be ideal for a kids room! The top is in great shape also.not gauged or chipped. It probably could be removed if you didn't want it on there somehow. I think the finish over the whole piece is darker from age than it was when it was new and it's now uneven and a bit dirty but not cracked or crazed. You can"pick it up" and I'll give you three months to do so and a week to pay for it. A company called PLYCON at plycon.com specializes in moving furniture pieces and a recent Ebay purchaser used it not too long agol. You can send your own truck/freight company to pick it up and deliver it to your door. I will assist you in any way I can to make that all happen. I've done nothing to this desk.purchased it today. and made the photos in the condition found. You can clean it up or give it a new finish. I just LOVE my desk even though it's a slightly smaller version. very happy with it and it worked well for me as a computer desk at one time.
