The most wonderful feature of this desk is the fact that the surface is constructed of oak planks. Not a single piece of timber. The result is a mix of gorgeous grains and feature timber. The desk stands on stunning turned, reeded legs, and has three drawers on each side, and a large central drawer. Each drawer front features ornate carving around the escutcheon. The raised attitional drawer bank is a wonderful feature and consists of two smaller side drawers and a wider central drawer. There are two original keys for the desk, though locks have seized up over time. This is a large and impressive piece! The desk itself measures 137cm wide. 84cm deep and 75cm high. The overall height extends to 101.5cm including the detachable drawers on the top. This gorgeous desk is scarce. And has character and charm in abundance! I bought this about 12 years ago when Lexington Furniture was a household name and was one of the best manufacturers of furniture in the industry. It is made out of cherry hardwoods and veneers with a distressed finish and is very heavy. It is 81 3/4 inches tall so almost 7 feet tall and is 43 1/2 inches wide and is 23 1/2 inches deep. It is in excellent overall condition. There is nothing broken or damaged and all parts work(doors work, drawers work, keyboard pull out works, etc. It does show some signs of wear and use such as a few scratches and places where the stain has worn over the years but NOTHING major. It is still a GREAT looking piece of furniture with lots of features such as a built in surge protector, a pull out ... morewriting desk, pull out keyboard area which is separate from the writing desk, adjustable shelves, doors on the top and bottom that are separate so that you do NOT have to open all of them to access just one area, doors also fold back to the sides, 2 drawers and one of them is a filing drawer, another pull out area to accommodate either a CPU or a printer, all doors shut to hide all the mess, and many more.
