In this tough economy I go out and search for bargains non new and gently used items. I was invited to an estate sale and I came across this little cabinet. This little cabinet is in excellent condition. The measurements are as follows: 13 in. base all sides 15.5 in. tall up the back 11.5x6 in. doors This cabinet was handcrafted by Mills River in Sri Lanka. It does have 4 feet on the bottom with metal hinges on the doors that are tight. There is a sticker on the bottom to verify that. As you can see there is 6 sections inside for recipes/papers. Here we have for sale an antique Western Electric candle stick telephone. The candle stick phone is in super original shape. The paint is old original as is the wiring and the felt on the bottom. The base is marked Western Electric Made In U.S.A. Pat. In U.S.A. Jan. 26 1915. On the neck part I see 40AL. The transmitter is in very nice shape no chips or breaks. The receiver is undamaged but shows wear from use. It is embossed Kellogg& Co. Chicago U.S.A. The wiring is original. There is one place where the outter cloth sheath is frayed. Still not bad for darn near 100 yrs. The ringer is in very nice condition. It has a 3 bar magneto. It rings when cranked. The wood has the original finish and Western Electric label. It is very clean inside. This set is all original as I purchased it 12 years ago. It came from an 80+ yr old man who was retired ... moretelephone repairman. He collected telephones and saved as many as he could back during the"change out" days. This is a nice original set.

There are a few fingernail detectable scratches on the top and bottom of the the wings about one inch long. Minor scuff to the black oval on the bottom of the fuselage and of course the customary yellowing of glue at the seams The stand has some minor scuffs and scratches too. The knob on the top of the pedestal is a bit off center. Causing the Skyrocket to tilt a little to the right. Here's your chance to own a very rare item. A lamp form the bridge of the SS United States. The lamp was removed at the time of the auction, and there is a photo of one in the Guernsey's Catalog. This lamp is in working condition with a good switch, and the original socket. Recently a black base and new cord was added to make it more usable. The lamp was polished in the 1980's and the shade was engraved with" SS United States" this engraving is not well done. Luckily it is rather faint and only noticeable very closeup. On the base a aluminum plate was added with a better engraving"SS United States" This piece of aluminum also came from the ship in the form of a life preserver rack from the crews bunks. This is a vintage ad that was taken from an old publication. It is a nice desk size ad that measures approximately 9 1/4" X 6 1/4" It is nice and clean with nice color. a vintage Bakelite Bauhaus era wall light. Side or desk lamp Czech 1920 30 40's
a vintage Bakelite light designed to be used as a wall light or as a side lamp on a flat surface. 1920- 1940 a Bauhaus inspired design. from the Czech Republic. the light is wedge shaped with a push button switch incorporated into the front. it is marked TYP 11641 25W 250V ES EFC the light shade is designed to clip directly onto the bulb and is not directly attached to the body of the light. the shade is marked 2801039 it can be maneuvered so as to direct the light from the bulb. the base of the light has 3 circular rubber feet to prevent scratching any surface it is put on and a hole so that it can easily be wall hung with 1 nail or screw. the light takes the smaller standard size screw bulb. approx 17 cm long x 11 cm wide x 14 cm high the light still has its original wiring with a 2 pronged European plug is untested and will need to be ... morerewired. The Bakelite is in good smart condition with no notable damage. There are some rough edges as shown in the close up pictures but I believe these are from manufacture.
