You are bidding on a nice working Vintage ART DECO Hammond Synchronous Electric Mantel Desk Clock. Made circa 1931 by the Hammond Instrument Company in Chicago. Illinois. The model is Cavalier and is embossed on the back of the clock. It runs nice and smooth and keeps accurate time. It is a spin to start clock. I've printed directions and taped them on the back of the clock. Clock measures approximately 6-5/8" tall, 6 3/4" wide, and 2 1/2" deep at the base tapering to 1 3/4" at the top. The lower front portion of the wood shows some wear. The top of wood veneer also shows some wear. The front of the calendar has a metal strip along the top which can hold a pen or pencil and provide overall stability to the calendar when it is opened to a particular day. The front also features a scene with a windmill and pond; this was covered with some sort of gold leaf material which now shows a few signs of wear. The back cover of the calendar has 2 prongs at the top which allows it to be propped up slightly for ease of use on an office desk or counter top.
