It appears this phone was customized for Fire Fighter District Chief Ed Fradette with a nice brass plate on the handset which includes his name and a raise bull dog emblem. Cosmetically the phone is in great vintage condition with no chips. Cracks or broken jacks. There is some very minor scuff marks. The rotary dial functions perfectly but is missing the center number plate. The brass plate does have some bends along the edges but still looks great along the surface with minimal scuffs and scratches. The coiled cord from the handset to the phone is in great condition and still springs back. The base of the phone looks very clean with all the original four footings. These vintage phones are made for landline service so make sure to check your service to be sure this type of phone will work for you. VTG Eastern Airlines Ashtray Desk Model Lockheed Constellation
This auction is for this vintage Eastern Airlines ashtray model. What is interesting is that I believe this is an early resin model but the arm and ashtray base are cast aluminum. I also believe the the airplane has a stabilizer that was professionally repaired(probably the 1950's by Eastern maintenance) It probably was repainted at that time. It originally belonged to a women who had once worked for Eastern and retired to North Carolina in the 1980's. I purchased the model about 10 years ago to start my own collection. It has served well and I am in a position to let another collector enjoy it as well. Note that the only Eastern marking is the screw pin on the base. this means you can be flexible and add whatever airline pin or markings you chose or simply leave as is. To ship this model safely.
