This desk is stamped Kling Colonial inside the drawer. It was made after 1962 when Baumritter/ Ethan Allen bought the company. Ethan Allen manufactured furniture under the name Kling Colonial through the 1990s. I think this desk was made in the 1960s but I don't know the actual year it was made. The third picture shows the number that is stamped on the back of the desk. It really needs to be refinished. Especially on the top, which is scratched and stained. I have been using it as is. Superb Harvey Probber Rosewood Desk Completely incased in rosewood on all sides. Allowing the desk to be used in the center of a room or up against a wall. Strong and beautiful figuring in the graining with simple clean lines make this a statement piece without an overwhelming presence. Six drawers offering ample storage with black/chrome pulls I have pictured several bubbles in the wood on top of the desk. They are only noticeable in certain light at certain angles but do exist and I want you to be aware of them. They do not effect the integrity or functionality of the desk. The desk is in overall good unrestored vintage condition with normal nick dings and scratches. The front of the drawers do show some spidering in the veneer. Mid Century Modern Jens Risom Pedestal Walnut Executive Desk w/ Floating Top. Double pedestal form in walnut. Marked with label, original finish, 66"w x 30"d x 30"h. This baby had not been a pampered antique. But a desk that looked like it was used on a daily basis for it's 50+ year old life. I had as much damage and wear and tear repaired by a professional restoration specialist as possible without doing a total restoration that would keep the desk from being in original condition. I'm going to scare you with all the flaws and repairs just to be as honest as possible. Perfect for the collector that wants their pieces to tell their history. One leg was professionally repaired with a life time guarantee. Someone had installed an after-market keyboard holder that the restorer removed and then repaired the damage. I tried ... moreto show a photo but he did such a great job I had a hard time finding the damage. There were tiny holes on the top that looks like someone had used the wrong size screws to reattach the top at one point. You can see the repair if looking for it. One drawer has a bottom that is damaged(pic shown) There are dark colored splatter-like stains on the desk in a few places. The top shows 50+ years of life with fading and stains. Even with all it's flaws and character. This is still a beautiful example of mid century design and craftsmanship. It would be a great piece to add to a collection if you aren't expecting perfection. This is a very beautiful. Asian inspired desk from an estate. It is black with lovely asian paintings on all sides of the desk. It can be set in the middle of the room because it is viewable from all sides. The desk is wood with what appears to be a leather top insertion. I'm not a furniture expert so it's hard to tell exactly if it is leather or not. Due to the age of the desk, which is mid century, I would assume the top is leather. The desk is made by Sligh Lowry and Flint& Horner since both plaques are inside the drawers as you can see in the photos. One must have made the desk and the other decorated it. A Rare Find a very nice Helibroner& Joseph 1878 Wooden Traveling Cigar Desk with brass key. The Wooden Cigar Cabinet Desk is Patented Oct 29th 1878. Desk is based on the traveling writing desks used in the 18th and 19th centuries by military commanders. Ships captains and other literate people who needed communications and records at hand. When the tax law of 1878 first permitted boxes other than wooden rectangles. A wave of oddly shaped containers hit the market within days. Since then, cigar sellers have used cleverly designed boxes and uprights to lure smokers into buying the entire box. Book shaped boxes and log cabins were particularly popular and are expanded upon in other Exhibits. All cigar boxes. VINTAGE 1940s/50s Diecast Metal Desk Model - Martin 2-0-2 Airliner 15" Wingspan
This vintage desk model is painted like a military recognition model but it's made of metal and weighs nearly 3 pounds. Clearly it was meant to be used with a stand as it has a hole underneath for a mounting pin. The plane has a wingspan of 15" and is in superior condition. Though it doesn't have any identifying marks. It appears to be a Martin 2-0-2. As it came into use about 1951, this may in fact be a Korean War era ID model. This is a used. But in good shape Jotto Desk Contour Console. The console mounts 15" of faceplate mounted devices- radios, siren control heads, light controllers, etc. I am including a"trash-tray" faceplate with the console. A quick coat of semi-flat black paint and this console will look completely new! The front end of the console is 10" high from the bottom, and tapers to 4.5" high at the rear.
