The note holder has a small crack on the back corner. See photo. The base is 5 3/8" wide by 3" The holder is 2 3/4" high. The front of the holder is brass and has a perpetual calendar. There is a metal tab at the bottom of the calendar that the first day of the month from Sunday through Saturday. The bottom of the holder shows what the first day of the month was for each of the years 1948 through 1952. The holder/calendar was made by Brown& Bigelow. St. Paul, Minn. The door fronts are simply gorgeous, with three dimensional designs and turned, cotton reel like columns to each side. The columns form part of the door, and open with it. There are two original keys for the pedestal cupboards. Atop the cupboards, there are three drawers. The surface of the desk has a new beautifully tooled leather insert. The desk sits on small, squat bun feet, and the pedestals and top are three separate pieces, for ease of transportation and movement. This is a highly functional large-size desk with a generous desk surface. Overall. The desk measures 164cm wide, 82cm deep and is 75.5cm high. Importantly, the kneehole is generous, and would be suitable for most adults, male or female. It measures 60.5cm high and a massive 58cm wide. Vintage Antique Industrial Signed Goose Neck Desk Lamp Machine Age Early Light
For your consideration is an antique goose neck desk/bench lamp made by the"R.B.CO. 8625. The cast iron base is in the Art Nouveau Style and the lamp adjust to a total height of 23" including the shade. The lamp is signed on both ends of the flexible shaft. The parabolic shade is 6 1/2" in diameter and has remnants of old green paint. The paddle switch socket accepts a standard base bulb(bulb not included) The lamp has new 18 gauge cloth covered wiring and an old fashioned two prong plug. The lamp has much of its old gold paint on the base and flex neck. There are paint chips and tarnish, adding to the character of the piece. Victorian/ Eastlake era child's roll top desk or secretary. I believe it is either solid mahogany or walnut and is from the 1880's or 1890's. It measures approximately 25" wide. 13" deep and 32" tall. It is in original condition.even the original porcelain knobs are intact. I wiped a light coat of Howard's furniture restorer on it and it looks fantastic. The tambor or roll top works well. The only remarkable damage is to one of the side drawers.this could be easily repaired and blended to be made almost undetectable.if desired. Great addition to any collection.
