You are bidding on a one of a kind piece of aviation art or trophy as you wish. The piece consists of a polished Curtiss Wright R-2600 piston setting in a mahogany wood base and topped by two sections cut from aircraft propeller blades. The piston is just over 6" diameter. This is all from parts that were not going flying anymore but were still better than scrap. The larger blade section has an 11" cord. Is 1.5" wide and is cut from a Hamilton Standard DC3 blade. The smaller one is 6.5" by 1" and is from a Sensenich. Even the curved metal supports are made from 2024T3 aircraft aluminum. My intent here was to make a piece that screamed aviation but did not look like a certain model of airplane. Most trophies just try to look like an airplane and seldom succeed. This can be whatever you want, to me it's a reminder ... moreof a photo of a B17 with a P51 flying close formation as cover, if your an aviation guy you can let your mind decide what it represents. This will be disassembled for shipping but is easily assembled with a few screws. Here's a pretty rare SHEAFFER DESK PEN BASE. Cast metal ART DECO cat black cat regally seated atop a tall base. This base is from about 1930 and I think it has with it a later SHEAFFER socket. I've included a generic black pen as it works and fits the socket. The cat in my experience is hard to find being the only one I've come across over the years. Noted by eminent SHEAFFER expert and collector in this field(and my occasional helpful critic) as the"definitive Sheaffer base, this cat stand is just about 8" tall and is wonderful stepped design that looks like it is right out of ancient Egypt. The metal is non-ferrous white metal(possibly zinc) and is all over black enameled. All spots or white areas are lint, dust or light reflection and poor cleaning. No dents, chips or other flaws. The Sheaffer socket is probably of ... morea later era, though the installation does look original. Mid-level ring on the socket is loose. 1970s Scottco Perpetual Calendar & Pen Desk Set on Onyx Base w Original Box
Scottco Calendar& Pen set has a light green& brown onyx base which measures 3" x 5" x 3/4" thick and is in very good. Preowned condition. Minimal all-over surface wear and the pen body has a couple of tiny dings but no other damage. The attached brass plate is blank and ready for engraving and there is a second, loose plate in the box as well. The Parker ink cartridge still writes but should probably be replaced. DETAILED DESCRIPTION: Here is an odd vintage Sheaffer desk pen in an unusual alligator textured travel case. I think the pen is a Touchdown Sentinel Deluxe Stratowriter. Because it's a desk pen I cannot find a lot of information to identify it. It has the early type screw-in style refill which the Stratowriters used(The Stratowriters were Sheaffer's first ballpoints) and comparing it to regular pens it looks closest to the Touchdown Sentinel Deluxe so that's my best guess. Pen's body is marked: W. A. SHEAFFER PEN CO. FORT MADISON IOWA. U.S.A. MADE IN U.S.A. 850. Pen itself is in very good condition. Refill is dry from age. It measures approximately 6-5/8 inches in length and 0.46 inches in diameter at thickest spot. The most unusual thing is probably the case. Inside bottom is velvet with pen's base permanently attached. ... moreInside top is satin lined, outside is textured leather. Case is large in size, 8-1/2 X 4 X 1-1/4 inches; and quite heavy, almost a pound and a half. Weight is obviously, and deliberately, concentrated in the bottom half to prevent it from tipping when in use. I think it is intended to be some sort of executive travel pen. Spectacular Streamlined Machine Age Design.Circa 1920. Art Deco desk solid walnut desk It was love at first sight when I saw this desk. It was a diamond in the rough, I knew it had the making for greatness The streamline Deco design and stunning American Black Walnut wood(not veneer) make it remarkable!The side panels are solid walnut which is exceptional. Usually you find the panels with a thin veneer not solid walnut, this is a great high quality feature.the entire show part of desk is solid walnut I have restored this fantastic desk from top to bottom The drawer insides feature oak with dovetail joinery on both the front and back ends of the drawers. I painted the 5 drawers with black.The top drawer bottom I added the"cheetah" fabric. Which is a felt backed vinyl, making for a soft surface. I think it adds artistic flair to this ... moredesk The drawers all slide like silk. Smooth& easy on the new custom solid maple runners Gorgeous original drawer pulls. I buffed to a satin sheen and sealed them with a clear finish, I left some darkened highlights in place for character I restored the finish entirely by hand. The desk had an brown opaque finish which was poorly applied and hiding the wonderful grains and textures of this walnut I applied many. Many coats of hand rubbed oil varnish, the finish brings out the rich depths and textures of the wood, including some beauty marks in the grain(knots, dings, nail holes I filled and some chips in the wood panels on the lower edges of the kneehole area) When you rub your hands over the wood. It feels fantastic.I did restore some pieces(some trim at the bottom of the pedestals)This desk has beauty marks& imperfections. The top has some age related shrinkage gaps/cracks This desk is restored on all sides and can"float" in any room. It looks superb from any angle Not perfect. Kjobenhavns Telefon Aktieselskap cradle phone 1940s. The phone is in working condition. Nice ring. This is a heavy phone with its porcelain over metal case and real brass trim. The phone is originally from the 40s. It was refurbished in the 70s. At that time a new line cord with modular plug was put on and the handset cloth cord was replaced with a curly cord. There is a chip in the porcelain on bottom left side of phone as shown in picture. The phone is in clean working condition. It is being sold as described in listing. It is ready to plug into any standard modular phone jack and start using. It has been tested and is in good working condition. You will need pulse service to dial out.
