Art Deco Brass Desk Stamp Box -- Accessory - Trinket Box - Paper Clips
This is a nice Art Deco stamp box. It has wonderful. Classic lines to it. Inside are two compartments for stamps but you could use this for paper clips or other small items. The base of the box is about 3.5" x 2 and 5/8" and is about 1 and 1/8" tall. There are four small ball shaped feet on the bottom. It is quite a solid little piece and probably was part of a high end desk set. There is some tarnish as shown in the photos. We have elected not to polish this. Preferring instead, to let the piece show its age. It opens and closes very smoothly. There is no clasp(never was) and the lid just rests on the box. Today we are listing an Art Deco designed vintage Sheaffer fountain pen desk set from a local estate. I know little about pens so use the photos as part of the description. The holder looks to be a brass plated metal and measures 7"x 41/2" The condition is okay. Bright and shiny but shows some surface scratches and some wear to brass plating. The metal piece holding the pen cap shows wear but swivels fine. It removes from the base. The pen is a striped black and gold color with a 14k gold nib. It has all the Sheaffer markings on all the parts, top, bottom and nib. It looks to be in good condition, no splits, cracks etc. It does feel like some light ridges on the very tip, but you don't see them except under very close inspection. 1959-1967 Finnie MERCEDES-BENZ 220+300 desk lighter Japan model car like Prameta
I assume this unusual and highly detailed polished metal table lighter in the form of a Finnie model Mercedes-Benz dates from the 1959- 1967 era when the Finnie models were sold new ie. W111& W 112 Series I think with the models including the 190D. 220S, 220Sb, 220SEb and 300SE and 300SEb etc. It is all metal apart from the clear plastic windows. With the main body and integral wheels being polished and the base plate and lighter being chrome plated. There are four small screws on the base plate, an adustment knob for the lighter as well as a large screw attaching a plate to the lighter compartment which are all chrome plated as well. The base plate is stamped"JAPAN" toward the rear and both number plates show"65" The front number plate is spring-loaded and when depressed(ie. pushed in) the lighter lid pops up from ... morethe roof! It is 5 5/16" or 136mm long and 2" or 51mm wide. There was never a grill mascot but otherwise the attention to detail and casting precision is excellent. Weighs 345g unpacked. I've seen quite a few Mercedes-Benz table lighters and had this example for over 30 years and never found another like it! It made a nice display with my 1950's German made Prameta cars of similar size and appearance. From the appearance of the lighter wick. I don't think it has ever been used as a lighter and remains complete and undamaged in excellent condition with just some tarnish/patina to the surface of the polished metal body which I expect would polish to pristine if desired. The chrome plated parts(ie. lighter lid. Base plate and door) are also excellent with shiny chrome with no blisters or other deterioration. The clear plastic windows are undamaged and not discoloured. If fuel was added, I see no reason why it shouldn't light-up and function as intended. An excellent original example of what must be a very rare lighter in the form of a Mercedes-Benz'Finnie' Fixed proper packing and postage. US$7.50 within Australia and AIRMAIL to anywhere else for US

I bought this about a year ago. Moved to a new house and mounted my 3- 20" monitors on the wall above my desk so I dont need this anymore. Cord is still very springy but has some markings near plug as shown in photo. Tested as having clean audio by a radio operator on SSB. The internal mic diaphram insert appears to have been replaced some time in its life. Pretty clean. A few scratches, everything works. No corrosion and very good paint condition on underside/base. Notice feet are stick on. But easy to find the front plastic ones at Jaycar or something. Battery sliding cap gone. Recommend using wide black PVC tape from supercheap. Two Bulova Quartz Desk/Shelf Clocks Brass Made in Germany Beautiful
2 Vintage Beautiful Little Brass Desk/Shelf Clocks. They are not perfect clocks. But I think they are cute and unique enough to shine anywhere. So far they are keeping time excellent. The first clock is see thru and you can see the workings of the clock takes a small AAA battery and its dimensions are 5.5" in height and 4.5" wide, it is 2.5" deep. It is a wonderful little brass clock you can see the brass wheels working inside the clock.It is very ornate with a craved brass handle and trim. The flaws with this clock is the plastic hinge that hold the back door closed is broken, if you push on it inward it stays closed or just use clear tape. Each clock has a small brass plate screwed into the top with a person name. This plate can be removed by unscrewing it, but I will leave that for the new owners to decide. The second clock ... morealso from West Germany and is more of a woman's clock. The facing is a creme colored with a gold encrusted flower, very pretty. It is very feminine. The dimensions are 5" in height, 4" in width and 2.5" deep. It takes a AA battery. This is a beautiful vintage pair of brass clocks.
