Parker '51 Executive Fountain Pen Desk Set - Medium Nibs - Model No. 236
Up for auction is a wonderful MCM Parker'51 Executive Fountain Pen Desk Set. The base is marble and there are two fountain pens with an aerodynamic looking design. The nibs are in very nice working condition. Both"fine" width nibs, with no splaying. One pen looks like it was used more often than the other. Why would you need two fountain pens side by side? One for Blue ink, and one for Black ink. The inside silver metal barrel reads"Parker'51 Special. An original sticker with"Model No. 236" and price list is still attached to the green felt attached to the bottom of the marble base, which shows the original $35.00 price! One very cool feature of this Executive Desk Set is that both pens attach magnetically to the base. Attached to the black plastic pen holders are round silver metal balls that are magnetic ... moreand stay very securely on the base. You would never even know they are removable. They contrast nicely with the brass colored squares attached to the marble base. With this design. You can turn the pens to all different angles- up higher, lower, further sideways, etc. You can also remove them completely off the base for cleaning. The black plastic pen casing looks better in person than in my photos. Which show up scratches that are not noticeable. There is one whitish mark on one of the pens about an inch and a half long that I wasn't able to photograph properly. It is not very noticeable. There are no cracks in the pen cases. The Ink bladders are in excellent condition, very pliable, and take 4 squeezes of ink to fill each pen. Nibs write smoothly. The marble is in very condition, no corners broken off or anything. There are a couple of small dings on the left-hand side of the marble when you are facing the front of the pen base, but they are not very noticeable(see photos 2 and 3) From a non-smoking home. These tables are RARE and there has not been one for sale on Ebay in quite some time. This is a great table. I am selling the 301 Featherweight Singer and Cradle separately. The wood shows age but it looks good and is still solid. It is the walnut version. The top is scuffed but the inside desk surfaces are very nice and the entire piece looks great. There is a picture of the wood grain on the inside surface of the foldout. There is a place to mount the pedal and use the thigh pedal that is pictured(it works) I had the 301A in the cabinet and the pedal functioned well with the thigh pedal. I am not sure of the exact year but the serial number from inside the trim is 132465, there is a pic. I get compliments on this table all the time. It is a nice piece of furniture that I would like to keep. I'm selling it to minimize before I move. ... moreThe lower ends of the legs of the cabinet are encased in metal to prevent the wood from being damaged. This cabinet also allows a better sitting position center line to your machine because the left table leg moves out of the sewer's way to support the folding leaf of the desk. North Electric Desk Phone Numbers Only Clear Plastic Dial Parts/Repair 54 Cycle
North Electric desk telephone with numbers only dial and clear plastic fingerwheel for parts or repair. There is a hole in the base about 1 inch in diameter where the handset comes closest to the base– that’s why Mom always said not to slam the phone down. On the back of the base. One set of vent holes needs screens. This phone has a gray modular line cord and a coiled plastic handset cord. The handset cord has 2 splits near the handset end: one about 3 inches long and the other about 1 inch long. The line cord is wrapped in black electrician’s tape where it comes out of the base. Dial turns to fingerstop okay. But hesitates and stops on the way back. I plugged the line into both my Vonage VOIP service and my ATT landline. There was no dial tone(these two services do work on older rotary dial phones) When I bought this phone. I couldn’t get ... morethe transmitter cap off and the seller(who is about 30 years younger than me) did it. My recollection is that there was a 1946 date but he put the cap back on and now I can’t remove it to take pictures for you. The bottom of the phone is marked 5H6?D 54 Cycle Ringer. While my 2 telephone providers(ATT& Vonage) still support pulse dialing. You might want to check with your provider if you intend to restore and use this telephone.
