Here is a circa early 40's"Unidyne" model 55C microphone from the Shure Bros. of Chicago. Illinois. It is a cardioid uni-directional moving-coil dynamic microphone. It was professional broadcast level in its day. It has a low serial number of 105. It has sensitivity at 55.5db below 1 volt per bar with a 100.000 ohm load. It is a high impedance microphone with smooth response from 40hz to 10000hz. It has a Shure desk stand model S36 and a three pin connector. There is no jack on the other end so you can add what you need, 1/4" amp or screw type, etc. It stands 12.5" tall on its base. There is some fine pitting on the finish, the grille cloth is faded, and I'm sure the rubber mounts inside are solidified. However, it works fine. I hooked it up to my Miller Straight Eight guitar amp and it got really hot and sensitive ... moreon the upper end of the volume control. This would make a great voice mic! This is a not often seen Kenwood speaker with the tinted front finish that matches R-599/T-599 combo. But. Of course this speaker would work with any transceiver. Original finish, crisp lettering, excellent front panel, excellent speaker grill that has a slight ding in the lower RH corner. Very nice Windsor style chair. Antique hand-hewn thick wood plank as the seat. There is a decorative groove or beading on the seat. Near the back spindles. It has worn off through age and use. I'd guess this old chair is from about the end of the 1800s. It is in really nice condition. All original. American Windsor side chair. It has an old white paint. The original color seems to be a dark green. The frame of the chair is solid and sturdy. The front rung was disconnected from the one leg. From a break, and was glued in place as a temporary repair. I was told this is cherry but I am not a wood person. Measurements: 37.5"inches feet to bottom back. 32"inches from front feet to slant top. 25"inches depth. This charming raised panel tiger oak desk dates from the late 1800's to the early 1900's. It is a large desk. And it is perfectly suited for a professional. Such as a lawyer, a banker, or a doctor. The desk has a removable top. Two pedestal bases, eight drawers, and two writing pull-outs. Please note the Eastlake design on the face of the drawers. This is a rare and unusual feature for raised panel oak desks similar to the one I am selling. The desk was refinished about 30 years ago by newlyweds who had received it as a gift from the bride's parents. The couple spent an entire summer stripping and refinishing the desk. Antique American Mahogany Writing Desk Bureau with Brass Handles Made in 1800s
This is a very nice very heavy Desk Bureau made in USA circa 1820. There are a few little repairs to the flap but the rest of the desk is pretty good. The colors is a brown and slightly reddish. The drawers and the flap has satinwood string inlay. There are small areas were some is missing, it sits on splayed feet and has brass handles which may not be the original ones. The back and the drawer linings again are all original with dovetail joints to the drawers. Its fitted with 2 envelope drawers to the interiors and many small drawers with a few small brass handles missing. But we will try and find these before its sold. The slides work fine to support the flap. Measurements are 42 wide 20 deep. 43 high. Cherry Drop Front Desk/Secretary, Carved Heads, Carved Front , Spindles, Panels
This is one of the prettiest antique pieces I have seen for a while. Structurally. It is in very good condition. The joints are all tight, the dovetails are excellent and there is little if any damage to the intricate carving. It is constructed of solid cherry with oak drawer sides. The drawer sides show very little wear and all of the bottoms are original to the piece. Unfortunately, the drawer pulls are probably replacements and the piece came to me with a flat mirror. The top panel on the right side has a slight split caused by normal shrinkage. Also on the right side you can see that the wood where the drop hinge is secured to the drop front has been very professionally repaired. With just 12 pictures I can’t show the back, but I will say that all of the back panels are original except to the one that covers the back of the mirror. Overall ... morethis is an excellent piece. It obviously was well cared for and still has the original finish. It is 61 inches tall, 31 inches wide and 17 inches deep front to back. Beautiful Antique Library Table or Writing Desk made out of quarter-sawn white oak. The wood is cut in such a way to reveal the large flaking pattern found in white oak(Quercus alba) that has been quarter sawn. Once stained. The wood has a rich golden color as seen in the photos. The table measures 28 inches wide. 45 inches long, and 29 inches tall. There is a hidden drawer on one side and a shelf across the bottom. This table is in great condition for its age. The base shelf could use some reinforcement and I've only found a few small 1/4" areas where the finish is wearing. Free local pickup or buyer assumes all shipping responsibility. I am listing this antique wooden lap desk in what appears to me to be a mahogany finish. It measures 11-1/2" x 8" x 4-1/2" Has a blue felt writing surface; compartments for stationary, stamps and pens with a removable cover(photo 7) two inkwell compartments although it only comes with one inkwell that is in great shape with no cracks or chips, and in the inkwell is a Bailey& Noyes pen nib extra fine(photo 8) The delicate brass key in a Quatrefoil pattern works well(photo 10) Left turn to lock, right turn to open. The bottom has the name L.E. Abbott written on it in pencil, and the initials are also in one of the desk flaps.
