Vintage wood inlay lap desk w/ leather writing pad and glass inkwells
Up for auction is a vintage looking wood inlay lap desk. Inherited from my father's house and I have no idea where he got it. Just know that it sat in his den holding stamps. Bills etc.before it came to me and served the same function in my office. Have now moved my office to home and have no more space for this useful and very attractive piece. It could be an antique Victorian lap desk as my father was always heading to auctions of all sort, and they were all the rage in Victoria's time or it could simply be a well done but more recent reproduction of a Victorian piece. I really do not know. Measures 13" wide x 10" tall. The front angled panel flips backward to reveal an inner compartment with seven separate sections. Two glass ink wells(one is missing its original brass lid) a pencil/pen compartment and a flat embossed ... moreleather covered table for writing on. Brass hinges and nice inlay work to the centre of the front panel and the four corners. There is a vertical crack measuring 7" to the veneer on the front of the lap desk. Sheaffer Desk Set consisting of a large jet black glass base with black and gold holders. A"white dot" Triumph style fountain pen and a somewhat scarce mechanical pencil. The base, holders, pen and pencil are all in superb, fully restored, working condition. The glass base which is grooved, measures 9 7/8" x 5" x 3/4" The surfaces are smooth and shiny with only a couple of barely noticeable and very minor chips on the lower edges. The pen and pencil holders are black with shiny gold colored metal trim. They are about 3" long. The pen is about 6 3/4" long and about 7/16" in diameter. The cylindrical Triumph style nib is two toned with platinum plate on solid 14K gold; it is medium. The nib is imprinted:SHEAFFER'S- REG. U.S. PAT. OFF. MADE IN U.S.A. 14K" The pen uses the reliable"Touchdown" ... morefilling system and takes up and discharges liquid well. All plastic and metal surfaces are smooth and shiny with no cracks, gouges, chew marks or engraved names. The barrel imprint reads: W.A. SHEAFFER PEN CO. FORT MADISON, IOWA, U.S.A. MADE IN U.S.A. The matching desk style mechanical pencil is also in superb condition with same barrel imprint as the pen. It also has a green band to distinguish it from the pen when in its holder. The rear two thirds of the pencil can be removed to reveal an eraser and lead storage area. The pen and pencil come in an original Sheaffer box with sleeves. The pen/pencil combination is somewhat scarce. The set probably dates from the mid to late 1940's. A classic very attractive Sheaffer desk set featuring both pen and pencil and in in superb, working condition.

The piece has a few light scratches here and there from use and I have tried to show them in some of the pictures. So please study each one carefully. There is one screw that is missing on one the bulb sockets but the other 2 that are still intact keep the shade secure. I believe that this piece use to be brass but there are indications in the arm and sockets that appear to have a brass base and you can tell this when you look at each picture. Each shade is properly marked on the outside rim of each shade as you can see in one of the pictures. The electrical wiring is in good order so you would not need to re-wire the lamp. Art Nouveau gilt and cut crystal double inkwell with pen holder. French. 19th century. Measures 5 3/4inches accross. 3 1/2inches front to back. Finest French cut crystal with gilt metal mounts. This piece has to be examined from every angle and side to appreciate the tremendous workmanship. the shape is oval with a round front. Underneath is beautifully. Beautifully cut crystal. Top corner of glass is canted. Around the front is a border of gold acorns and oak leaves. At the back this extends all the way up the side and turns over to the top of the crystal in the form of swags, flowers and foliage in exquisite detail. The inkwells are similarly decorated with acorn and oak openwork on the bottom. The metal caps have applied gold Art Nouveau figures of maidens in diaphenous robes, dancing. Superb. ANTIQUE HANDEL GREEN SLAG GLASS DESK TABLE LAMP FILIGREE
We are pleased to offer for your consideration this wonderful table or desk lamp from HANDEL. It is a beautiful 4 panel multi shades of green slag glass and just gorgeous when lighted. I have tryed to take a lot of pictures of different angles so all aspects of the lamp can be seen. The standard is in excellent condition with aged patina but it looks like it may have been painted at some time because there appears to be a little bit of green paint at the base as seen in the next to last picture and that picture shows the HANDEL signature. I believe the sockets and pull chains are original to the lamp and they work perfectly turning the lamp on and off. The filigree pattern on the shade is outstanding and it is all in tact. The slag glass panels are beautiful and in terrific condition with the exception of one small crack(pictured) The picture ... moremakes the crack appear larger than it is. When you feel on the inside of the panel it can hardly be felt and I think its only about 1" long. The lamp stands 20" with the base being 6" in diameter and the shade being 12" square.

Beautiful Modern Glass Desk
I have loved this desk. However am selling because I need something smaller to fit a washer/dryer. Great condition, sturdy as the day I bought it. There are some faint scratches on the glass surface from normal use, however you really have to squint and search to make any of them out. The glass top unscrews from the legs for easy transport. Dimensions are 63L x 30.5W x 30H. Happy bidding!

This is a pretty antique inkwell! It is a thick. Clear glass that is now faintly turning purple. The bottom has in very faint, raised lettering'PRACTICAL'very hard to see but there nonetheless. This inkwell is from the late 1800's and measures 2 1/4" tall X 2 1/2" top diameter; the bottom part of the inkwell is 10-sided, measuring 2" diameter. Please look at all of my pictures carefully as this is an OLD and USED item! It shows some light wear, some weird manufacturing marks along the top rim, bubbles in the glass, a tiny mark on the exterior, and some moisture/clouding inside.
