Antique Arts& Crafts. Art Nouveau Brass Overlay Slag Glass Desk Lamp. Fresh from a local Jersey Shore estate. Original untouched condition. The lamp is 14.5" tall. The Bryant socket is patent dated 1907 with a bakelite switch marked Perkins. Simple brass base with iron harp. Original green felt on iron weighted bottom. Brass shade with cut out Art Nouveau designs backed with original slag glass panels and brass bullet finial. The socket and switch appear to be in working order and the wiring and plug appear to be in good condition but you should probably have the lamp rewired to be on the safe side. The lamp was very dirty when I found it. I gave it a superficial cleaning but that is all. The brass looks like it would polish up nicely if you were so inclined. Glass Inkwells, Working Key, Powered by Offered here for auction is an Antique Rosewood-Veneer Lap Desk(or"Writing Box" with an ornate mother-of-pearl& inlaid wood design on the top and edges. The original owner(1866-1936) was wheelchair-bound. So this desk was well used and loved. It has remained in the same family ever since. The box measures 15" wide, 10½" deep, and 5½" tall(I believe this is large for a writing box of this age) You must look at the photographs to appreciate the beauty of this piece! The top is adorn with delicate designs. Separated by thin strips of metal. Gold gilding, mother-of-pearl, and various shades of inlaid wood make up the floral/vine-like center and the borders around it. Even the ... moretop's edges feature a gold& mother-of-pearl star design. There is a diamond-shaped brass plate around the key hole; the original key is included and still works to lock& unlock the box! There is also an inlaid brass notch on the box's top to lift the lid with ease. Amazing craftsmanship! The box has a hinged lid and opens fully to reveal a rich purple velvet-covered inclined surface. The purple is now faded around the edges with age(as you can see in the photos) There are five cubbyholes. One of which is rectangular(with a lid) to accommodate pens/pencils; and four square cubbies perfectly sized for the two ink bottles(included, although one is missing the cap) as well as other writing supplies. Other features include a spacious storage area in the base for paper or small books This is opened by the pull of a green ribbon(now faded) And last(but not least) is a hard writing surface that flips down from the lid. This compartment has a small latch-mechanism to keep it shut when not in use. This box is made of a wood veneer. ANTIQUE HANDEL LILY DESK LAMP; RARE YELLOW GREEN SLAG GLASS; DUFFNER ERA
For sale is a beautiful documented Handel lily lamp as shown in pictures 1-12. This lamp is relatively rare in that its glass color is not Handel's standard dark green. Rather. It is a lighter striated yellow green. Also the base metal and the metal holding the petals has a lighter golden brown patina that is more in keeping with the muted colors of the glass. The true patina color is shown in natural sun light in photo 3. The true color of the glass is shown in natural light in photos 2& 3. Although the base and shade are unsigned. This lighter colored variation of Handel's lily lamp is pictured(documented) in"The Handel Lamp Book" by Hibel. Hibel& Fontaine at page 30 at the top right. The lily pad base of the lamps were made of cast iron and thus much more difficult to emboss with the Handel mark than the softer ... morepot metal table lamps. Hence, most of these lily pad bottoms had weak lettering(a couple of letters) to no impressions at all. The lamp has been rewired with a period appropriate brown cloth cord that has been spliced at the bottom. See photos 9& 10. The lamp has its original bakelight plug. photo 8) The socket has a GE paddle. Photo 12. The socket works perfectly. The socket shell is spot welded closed at two spots. You can see one of them in photo 2. The shade is 4 inches long from back to front tip(i.e. The front to back diameter) The shade's side to side diameter is 4 1/2 inches wide. The shades front opening is 2 1/4 inches in diameter. It takes one of the narrow pointed bulbs. Unfortunately. The lamp has one panel of glass missing. Fortunately, it is in the least conspicuous spot. The underside. The framing for the petal is still intact. The missing piece can only be noticed by viewing the lamp from the back side(photo 11) or from the underside(photo 12) Because of Handel's overlapping petal pattern, the loss is barely noticable. With vintage custard glass light shades. The lamp measures approx. 18" tall. X 16" wide, the felt cover base bottom is 4-1/2" in diameter The glass shades measures approx. 5-1/2" tall x 6-3/4" in diameter. The two custards shades don't match totally. One is darker when turned on and is made of thicker glass, also it has a chip on the ruffled edges(see photos below) The brass lamp is in Very Good condition. With original brass patina, has a rotary Leviton on/off switch and good power cord. Some oxidation on the brass plated steel fitters and surface rust on the cast iron base.

Absolutely beautiful vintage cast iron& slag glass table lamp. This could be used on a table. Desk, or night stand. It measures 18.5" tall to the top of the acorn finial. The shade measures aprox. 14" wide. Lamp weighs 6.5 pounds. It has 6 lovely cranberry/pink& white swirl panels. Not very often do you see the pink swag glass. Each panel has two squirrels sitting in the corners. The base of the lamp has what looks like a tree or leaf design. Lamp works great. The glass is in good condition. It was pretty dusty when I got it. I did clean it a bit, but you might what to wipe it down more. The metal has a bit of wear on the top(see 7th pic) I do not think the finial is the original one. VTG Vanity. Bedroom, Desk ,Electric Lamp Light Crystal Glass Dangles Retro *
This listing is for a very old retro or vintage small vanity style electric lamp with crystal glass dangles hanging down. They hang about 4 and 3/4 inches long and the lamp stands about 10 inches high as pictured. When you put a bulb and shade on it the height would go up of course. This lamp is adorable. It comes without a bulb or a lamp shade or globe. It comes as pictured. The cord is the old style. Probably from the 1940's or 1950's, and I would suggest having it changed to modern codes to make it safer but it does work as is. The glass on the base of the lamp is heavy and reminds me of ice blocks. The metal between the glass has rust and probably needs to be painted to make it shiney again. Some of the dangles have very small chips or nicks in them. Probably from rubbing against each other over the years. The very tips of some ... moreof them are worn off but you have to feel them to tell they have these minor issues. You cannot really see any of these places. I do have a matching lamp that is also listed on Ebay.

This rare desk clock measures 7 ½ inches wide and 5 inches tall and 1 1/4 inch thick with heavy beveled glass. The wind and the set sill work and a watch maker friend of mine took a quick look and said that it looks like the hairspring and balance staff are still good but that it needs a good cleaning and oiling and some adjustment. It is being sold as is. This watch came out of an oil man’s estate in east Texas and I imagine it sitting on his desk for many years. Please see pictures for condition. The finish is excellent on flame grain mahogany. A solid mahogany top has been mounted over the crown molding. The top underneath was originally unfinished. The flip open writing surface is inlaid with natural saddle leather, and rests on pull out supports. Drawers have hand cut dovetail joints and matched grain. There are plugs from relocated pulls. Hand cut square nail heads are visible. The upper bookcase section is removable on this picturesque antique furniture. The doors have a small warp. Vintage late 1960's Sligh Desk w/ Matching Chair leather top w/ glass
Vintage Sligh desk is from the late 1960's. Most of that time. It has been gently used in an adult only, non pet, non smoker house. Top measures roughly 23" x 46" There is minor surface damage on the wood from normal wear. The chair shows the most surface damage. It looks like maybe the legs were hitting something on one side(maybe a PC kept on the floor) Additionally, it looks like a belt or something kept in a pocket might have repeatedly rubbed against the back of the chair on the other side of the leg damage, above the seat. The chair has been owned as long as the desk, so I'm guessing they may be a matched pair- something I haven't seen much on ebay. There is no manufacturers label on the chair. The leather top has always been covered by a glass top, so is in near new condition. THe glass top isn't in the photographs, ... morebut is included. X 3.25" x 2.75" Unsure of working condition because we do not have a key for it, but when you push the button on the top it runs and the chime rings for a few seconds. There is a chip on the top left edge of the glass on the front and a small chip on the left edge of the side glass(see photos. The top round glass doesn't appear to fit and is loose.
