Up for pick up auction is a wonderful vintage ART DECO pair of ice cream cone shaped chrome pedestal stools with foot rest. I have taken photos of both and the 2 tops of each one as well as the bottoms which have some surface rust. On top of the bases one has a couple of very small service rust spots. There is a very small little dent on one of them. This foot rest is in fair vintage condition. There are definitely signs of wear. Especially on the underneath side. Photos reveal the wear in that area. The gold vinyl covering with large button is in very good condition. There are no holes, tears or burns. There is a slight discoloration of a lighter shade on the right side, if looking down from top. There is a darker smudge like mark on the top. These marks are very light. The frame is made of some kind of metal and adjusts only the angle but not the height. There is some minor surface. Spotted rusting here and there throughout the metal frame, which is common with metals of this age. They could possibly be removed and restored if one cares to do so. This foot rest came from an estate and I couldn't get much information on it except that it was"really old" It looks as though. In places it was glued or re-glued, not anytime in recent years. What a great find. This is a vintage like-new all original foot stool in solid maple wood with an authentic shearling lambswool sheepskin covering applied to the top. It is all original and in very good unused clean fresh condition and has no wear. Stains or odors. It was made in the USA and is probably circa 1970. It is signed on the underside with two original paper labels: MADE BY A JUNIOR ACHIEVEMENT COMPANY and THIS IS A GENUINE SHEARLING LAMBSKIN BY LAWRENCE LEATHERS. One tag is the traditional Junior Achievement old style label, and the other is a shaped cutout lamb sheep label. Very stylish authentic mid century decor, right back on trend with today's high quality contemporary interior designs. This is a nice light medium brown maple wood with a low luster finish. Undulating ripple turned splayed legs and flat maple slab oval ... moretop. The real lambskin wool top is beautiful golden light brown color, clean, fluffy and soft- wonderful to the touch!
