Lightly use d Starrett No. 445 depth micrometer set with a 4" long base& range of 0-6" in.001" increments. The micrometer has both the ratchet stop and spindle lock. Both working as they should. It spins freely and the 0-1" rod zero's out on a surface plate right on the money. I didn't check the other rods. That will be up to the winner to do. Up for auction I have one used or experienced Starret Depth Gage Micrometer Set model 445 in a fitted case in good used shape. Everything moves freely, travel range is 0- 6 inches. There is initials and a name etched on the front and back but does not effect operation, see photo. Comes with original box and the box does show some considerable wear on the outside but the inside is in nice shape. This tool retails for over $200.00, so don't miss out. All the tools I have listed came from an estate sale in my area. The gentlman I purchased them from was a machinist for many years at a mill. Starrett 0-6 inch depth micrometer Here is a 0-6 inch depth micrometer set from the famous toolmaker. L.S.Starrett. This is the No.445 series with the.125" Diameter rods. Has a 3 inch base. Has spindle lock. Micrometer set itself is cosmetically excellent and shows very light use. Satin chrome is still vivid and intact. Knurls and all graduations are sharp and crisp. There is an extremely light name engraving that you literally have to see in a bright light at an angle in order to see.Can't even feel it with you finger nail. See picture with pointer pointing directly at it. Functions smooth and the 0-1 inch rod is graduated. I have not check the rest. This Starrett. Model 445, 0-12 Inch Depth Mic Set is not brand new yet certainly looks it. This item operates great and requires only a roll up or down the arm in order to pare this item through its entire stroke. The beautiful wood case is 20" X 12" and is in excellent condition. The depth mic has a six(6) inch base on it. This container has an individual slot for each rod thus not requiring one depth rod to be kept inside the micrometer which only enhances rust. This item has an etching on both it and the box that corresponds to someone's control number.
