Up for bid is a very nice condition early 40's 1/4HP dual 1/2" shafts 110 volt Delta Manufacturing company motor. Motor is in excellent condition. The paint is excellent and the tag and decal are near perfect. This came off of a scroll saw that was hardly ever used. The cord works bu should be replaced due to dry rotting. There is no noise in the bearings. One of the ends has a wire wheel on it that may be original Delta or not. I am sending it with the motor but make no promises. This could be used on a band saw. Vintage Dunlap (Sears) 1/4 HP Split Phase A.C. Motor
This is a vintage Dunlap electrical motor. According to the plate. It is 1/4 horsepower, split phase, bronze bearing, type SEO, 1750 RPM, 115 volts, 60 cycle, 5.8 amps and says, For reversing interchange yellow leads in terminal box in end casting. I bought this at a sale where a 75 year old machinist was selling off all his equipment. It all appeared to be from the 40's. 50's, and 60's. If you could see the metal covering the motor, you would see it is 3 to 4 times thicker than any of the newer motors. It runs really smooth. Wiring in a longer cord is a breeze because the connections are easy to get to(picture 3) It's heavy and has a nice pulley and mounting bracket. Thanks for looking.

In my opinion as a Maintenance Mechenic/Electrician for 40+ years this motor is like new. There is no play in the bearings and the windings look perfect(see pics) The only tell-tale sign that it was ever used is the mark left on the shaft from a setscrew. The setscrew"burr" has been carefully filed off. The motor is reversible by interchanging Red and Black wire connections. Send me a message and I will make the proper connections ... morefor the rotation direction you prefer. Using no solvents I cleaned the dirt left behind from sitting with a soft cloth. I applied 1 drop of Zoom Spout Oil in each oiling tube. I am sure this motor will provide many years of service. It comes complete with universal cradle mount bracket. Motor can be hard-wired. First let me say that I believe this to be a split phase motor, It does not say it on the tag but it has a spool on the rotor shaft that pulls in on start up and then pops out when it winds down after the power is shut off( the ohms are 6.5 with the spool in the out position and 14.3 when pulled in, It probably closes a switch like most split phase motors) The tag reads"The Emerson Electric Mfg Co. New York- St. Louis.Frame S44 LW.HP 1/30.Cyc 60.Style 660-12617.Ph. 1.RPM 1140.volts 110.Amps 1.0.No. H39H678.5 inches tall by 7 inches long and weighs about 12 pounds, It has original motor leads(I put heat shrink on the leads where they exit the motor because the cloth was frayed and the bare wire was exposed) also has an original Bakelite plug, Original paint. I have not been able to find another motor exactly like this one on the internet? So I am not sure what it would have been used for?
