Vintage Speedway motor geared to 1 rpm(?)
This motor and gear system looks like it might have been designed for a display unit. The grease used on the gears had hardened over the years and I used a penetrating oil overnight to free them up which worked. Now everything is freed up and working. I tried to stop the motor by grabbing the big gear and could not do it. I temporarily hooked up an electrical cord to the tabs at the coiled part of the motor. You will need to do your own wiring. The paper tag gives a detailed description of the unit. The motor/gear unit is about 7" in dia. across the mounting arms and about 4" high. The mounting frame has a bolt that allows a bit of adjustment to go higher. The four holes in the big top gear are threaded.
