It can be converted to 220, but you're on your own to do that- no instructions for that in the included manual. Manufactured in 1995. I bought it used from a business in 2007 and have hardly used it since(have 2 heat presses) This is a swing-away model so you can completely swing the heat element off your platen for setup(see picture) Which is a really nice feature to keep your transfer material and garment cool, as well as your hands and arms! Stahls Hotronix STX 16x20 Clam Shell Heat Press - Used
2007 Stahls Hotronix STX 16x20 Clam Shell Heat Press. I've owned the press for 2 years. The only issue I've had with it is I think the pressure calibration is off. Most of the transfers I press suggest 45-55 psi and I press those at an 8 setting to get the best results. About a month ago I had someone replace the control board. And I don't think it was calibrated correctly at that time. Here's a video that shows the press in operation(recorded today) Just pressed a cut up piece of a transfer on a scrap piece of t-shirt material. Press was at 400 degrees. 12 seconds, 8 pressure. The press auto-opens in the video. However it normally doesn't do that- I have to manually open it. The Hotronix tech guy said the things that do the auto-opening need replaced. I forget what they are called(gas cylinders? He said it was not an ... moreexpensive fix. I didn't bother doing that as I don't find it a big deal to open the press myself. You are bidding on a used Hotronix by Stahl's with operator's manual heat press is model SG 01 Swinger model. Model is adjustable for operation with either right or left hand. Heat press has a lot of hours left on it. Heat press is in very good working condition operates and functions as intended. However it is dirty. Scratched and has wear marks from normal use. Electric cord has tape on it near machine. Cord at one time was rubbing against something while being used so I put tape around it so it would wear through. This is a one owner heat press. It was bought brand new last February from Coastal Business Supplies. It works great for plotter cut apparel as well as plastisol heat transfers. Sublimation products, etc. It runs on a standard 120 volt outlet. You will need help- as in another strong person- when picking up this item. It weighs approximately 150 lbs. It should fit fine in the back of a Truck or SUV. The standard 16" x 20" quick release platen is included with purchase.
